The host of Lets Chat Radio has been a licensed insurance benefits counselor for 6 years working in the life and health insurance markets and today will discuss disablilty insurance. Get your pencil and paper ready !
Nearly one-third of U.S. workers will become disabled at some point in their career before reaching retirement, according to a 2009 estimate from the Social Security Administration. Yet the federal agency says that 70% of employees aren't covered by private long-term disability insurance. Social Security disability benefits are available for certain disabled workers, but the average payout is only 40% of a person's income and the allowance rate for initial claims can be as low as 30% in some areas of the U.S.
Individual disability insurance is truly a basic concept. It is an insurance product designed to replace anywhere from 45-60% of your gross income on a tax-free basis should a sickness or illness prevent you from earning an income in your occupation. Your most important asset is your ability to bring home a paycheck, DI makes sure that regardless of any adverse changes to your health, you are able to provide for yourself and your family. Every disability insurance policy from every insurance company is very different, this is not a product to simply shop for the most competitive rate. To buy the cheapest disability insurance policy on the market is to throw money away. The odds of getting paid a monthly benefit under a cheap contract may be significantly lower than receiving benefits from a quality contract. The goal of this show is to provide you with information to make an educated decision on your own. I will provide you with information regarding the major features of a disability insurance policy so that you may better understand how to read a disability insurance policy. In this episode of Independence Nation, Keith A. Pitts, MSE will take a close look at the immigration situation, as pertains to President Oabama's annoucement to take immigration action via executive order. The President is set to make an annoucement on the issue tonight at approximately 8pm. The republican opposition has vow in previous releases to move forward on impeachment if Obama take action without the approval of Congress. The situation will be examine holistically. Will this immigration reform bill benefit or further deteriorate our nation?
Immigration reform is not about Blacks and Latinos. Immigration reform includes people from countries all over the world and it is about citizenship. Immigration reform is necessary not just because people have crossed into United States illegally or are here undocumented. Immigration reform is necessary because we are a country of immigrants. Immigration reform is necessary because without it employers will continue to exploit workingclass citizens and non-citizens. A pathway to citizenship is for the good of all America. Right now, our broken immigration system benefits only the 1% and those who are the puppets of the 1%. Black unemployment and citizenship for the illegal and the undocumented are not a rivalry issue about immigration. We all immigrated here except for Native Indians and stolen Africans. And every since Africans were freed from slavery, unemployment has been high for African Americans. Self-employment kept African Americans living. Self-employment became part of the black code law that put African Americans at the mercy of slave wages. So there is nothing new in 2014 about Black unemployment. Unemployment for Blacks has always been higher than unemployment for any other groups of Americans. Pre-President Obama, Blacks experienced first fired last hired. Had it not been for family/communitiy way of life over the decades, and creativity that has been handed from one generation to the the next, where would Black families be today?
Highest unemployment is the norm in Black communities and for Black Americans
Poor living conditions reflected in shelter and transportation means
Consumption of foods not for nutrition value but based on value of available funds
High imprisonment for lessor offenses
No protection under the law for hangings and rape at will
On this week's episode:

Bill Cosby is being accused of sexual assault by more than a dozen women.

Our Bonehead of the Week kind of reinforces a stereotype.
And much more! Join us live from 8:30-10:30 CST tonight!
The topic of the day is ObamaCare! I am with my guest speaker, Connie, as she shares her inspiring story of how President Barack Obama's healthcare reform helped her to receive medicine for a serious illness she is facing. Without ObamaCare, she says that getting the medicine would not be possible for her. Listen to her testominial and then YOU can decide (or have more information to make a decision) once and for all if ObamaCare (Obama Care) is good for America or not.
* Episode Features*
- A real testominial (honest and not a "paid" review of any kind) from guest speaker, Connie, about how ObamaCare is allowing her to get medicine that she otherwise could not obtain.
We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Be safe, eat a lot and always give back. We salute soldiers serving overseas and we have hope America can get back to where she belongs as a beacon of Democracy that the entire world can emulate.
U.S. President Barack Obama has been negatively bombarded from all sides. This show will not jump on the bandwaggon critisizing this great American Icon in the making. He has gotten at least 75% of his agenda through WITHOUT the help of Republicans and "bullweivel" Blue Dog Democrats. When it mattered most, so called Progressives in Congress, for the most part, abandoned him and threw him under the bus. A prime example is this past Midterm 2014 Elections. After all that, any humanbeing would implode, lose composure and probably quit. It kills them that he did not and he will not. In life, it's not how many times you get knocked down. But, it's how mant times you get back up, brush yourself off and soldier on. That is the essence of this great leader and legend in the making.
In a recent speech, he will go it alone signing an Executive Order on Immigration since Republicans won't compromise. If they were for something, they are now against it only because Obama is for it. Their actions border on the brink of treason, as they do everything in their power to make our first African-American President of the United States of America look incompetent and weak. This two years will be very interesting. Will it be more gridlock or will compromise be reached to get us back where we need to be economically, socially and politically? Will Obama become a lame duck or an Iconic Legend? Join us!

What is Immigration Reform in the eyes of the people who have come here legally and to the American People? Is it an act of the President of the United States? Or is it an act and will of the people? Really? Is this Right or Wrong? Who will benifit? Who gets left out? What of those going through the process to legally immigrate to the US? This and much more today at 12pm pst...

How do we build the future surface fleet to ensure our forces maintain the ability to access to all regions of the world's oceans that our vital to our national interests?
Our guest to discuss this and the broader issues related to our surface forces will be Bryan Clark, Senior Fellow at Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA).
A basis for our conversation will be his recent study for CSBA, Commanding the Seas: A Plan to reinvigorate U.S. Navy Surface Warfare, where he articulates the operational concept of “offensive sea control” as the new central idea to guide evolution of the U.S. surface force. This idea would refocus large and small surface combatant configuration, payloads and employment on sustaining the surface force’s ability to take and hold areas of ocean by destroying threats to access such as aircraft, ships and submarines rather than simply defending against their missiles and torpedoes.
Prior to joining CSBA in 2013, Bryan Clark was Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations and Director of his Commander’s Action Group.
He served in the Navy headquarters staff from 2004 to 2011, leading studies in the Assessment Division and participating in the 2006 and 2010 Quadrennial Defense Reviews. His areas of emphasis were modeling and simulation, strategic planning and institutional reform and governance. Prior to retiring from the Navy in 2007, he was an enlisted and officer submariner, serving in afloat and ashore including tours as Chief Engineer and Operations Officer at the Navy’s nuclear power training unit.
Mr. Clark holds a Master of Science in National Security Studies from the National War College and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Philosophy from the University of Idaho.
