What happens when you have an injury that ends your career? If you aren’t covered by the proper disability insurance you could have drastic ramifications to your income. Some disability insurance will protect you whether the injury is work related or not. Shirley Gutkowski, Host of Cross Link Radio, speaks with Craig Gussin and Jean Rockwell about different types of disability insurance.
Craig Gussin attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where he received his degree in Business Administration. Craig also holds an advanced degree, Charter Life Underwriter from Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Health Care Reform Specialist and a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, along with the National Association of Health Underwriters and The International Disability Insurance Society. He has written articles, conducted seminars, been interviewed on TV, Radio, in the newspaper and magazines, including the June 2011 issue of Money Magazine.
Jean Rockwell was a full time RDH for 29 years, when she was forced to retire due to a disability. Luckily, she had disability insurance, allowing her to maintain the lifestyle she had while working as an RDH. She lives in San Diego, California, and is currently working part time as an insurance agent with Auerbach & Gussin Insurance, promoting disability insurance to RDH’s. She is a co-author of an article in RDH Magazine where she examines the features of a comprehensive disability insurance policy. She also co-monitors an online group, specifically designed for disabled or injured RDH’s. She is a member of ADHA and CDHA. Jean attended Pensacola Junior College in Pensacola, Florida and obtained her Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.
As dental hygienists, we have all at least contemplated about buying disability insurance. But is it worth the expense? What kind of disabilty insurance is there? How expensive is it? What would it cover? How long would it last if you ever needed to use it? Today, America's Dental Hygienist, Shirley Gutkowski talks with Ann Hansen about all the pros-and-cons of disablilty insurance. Ann Hansen is a Registered Dental Hygienist and has a Bachelor's Degree in Health. She has over 30 years of dental experience--ranging from registered dental assistant, insurance manager, office manager and dental hygienist. She has been retired from dental hygiene since 2008 but still stays connected to dentistry through education and mentoring. She is a two-time attendee of Career Fusion--and loves the comraderie and support it has brought to her life.

Are many sick or injured people cut off from Long-Term Disability Benefits after two years? Does that sound like long-term support for the injured? Is this something in the fine print? And were do those premiums paid for go? Let's talk about Long-Term Disability Benefits from Employers and Insurance Companies today.
Bob will interview Linda Nee, who is a Licensed Maine Life and Health Consultant with a specialty in management of disability income and employer ERISA claims. Over the last 20 years, the availability of voluntary benefits has grown from an anomaly to a strategy for the majority of employers. According Eastbridge Consulting Group, Inc., 54 percent of all employers provided at least one voluntary benefit in 2006. Six years later, that percentage has grown to 77 percent. For Eastbridge, the definition of voluntary benefits only includes life and health benefits where the employee pays 100 percent of the premiums through payroll deduction and there is no direct contribution by the employer. In the 25 years Eastbridge has followed voluntary benefits trends, life and disability insurance remain the first and second most popular products.
But, people like Mike Zarrillo, Vice President of Voluntary Benefits and Business Development for AIG Benefit Solutions, believe an employer's voluntary benefits strategy can go beyond the Eastbridge classification. Zarrillo sees two other categories gaining in popularity in the workplace: value-added benefits such as legal services and pet, home and auto insurance; and "beyond-value-added benefits" that play on the concept of consumerism at work. He's watched some companies give employees access to home-protection products and even home appliance purchases that the employee buys via payroll deduction.
So, if you want to learn more about voluntary benefits and how they may manifest in your workplace, join us as we talk with Mike Zarrillo about the changing landscape of employee benefits.

"the daily complaint"
Every weekday we will be answering client complaints on THE DEBT SHOW to provide direction and resources for both the person complaining as well as other consumers experiencing similar issues whether it be mortgage fraud, loan servicing escrow issues, loan modification runarounds or denials, short sale refusals, deed in lieu negotiations and credit card debt collector abuses and fraud violations.
I routinely look for posts to answer in hopes that it will not only bring optimism to those homeowners and borrowers in distress but also some basic information to assist in fighting the banks that are "too big to fail" like Bank of America and Citi but yet don't appreciate the bailout that we provided in their time of need. The debt collectors like Ocwen and Nationstar are simply just scumbags but they can be beat at their own game too just like the big banks can be defeated.
We are committed to answering consumer complaints and addressing everyday credit and debt issues on THE DEBT SHOW!
We hope you enjoy THE DEBT SHOW...

Join us for a conversation with Chava Kintisch, Esq., Director of Civic and Government Affairs for the Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania (DRN), about the new federal regulations for Medicaid home and community-based services now in effect. These regulations require Pennsylvania to ensure that its Medicaid home and community-based waiver services are provided through a person-centered planning process and provided in appropriate, integrated settings.
We'll discuss what the term Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) means, what person centered planning is all about, how it impacts residents of the Commonwealth with disability waivers, the Department of Human Service's (formerly DPW) transition plan, and much more.
