A star-studded weekend of boxing delivered little in the way of actual oomph, unfortunately. There weren't many thrills or spills, but plenty of chills. But did you expect us to say anything different anyway? From ESPN's "Night of Champions" that featured Antonio Tarver and Austin Trout, to a ho-hum ShoBox between Erislandy Lara and Ishe Smith, to a mediocre Showtime card (surprised?) headlined by Amir Khan vs Devon Alexander dueling with a good-but-depressing HBO card across the street, topped by Tim Bradley vs Diego Chaves, we got it all, baby. James Foley of Bad Left Hook and The Queensberry Rules' Patrick Connor will help you relive every fight, no prisoners taken. Thanks for tuning in!

From yelling at two men in a clinch to wonky disqualifications, badly-yelled commands and taking points with impunity, all sorts of things happen when referee Vic Drakulich is involved -- and that's before he even gets into the ring! Brandon Rios' DQ win over Diego Chaves was disappointing, to say the least, but at least we had a fun stoppage from Sergey Kovalev over Blake Caparello, and a solid fight between Jessie Vargas and Anton Novikov. Wait, no...that was dumbed down by idiot judges too. This week on TQBR Radio, Bad Left Hook's James Foley and Patrick Connor of Queensberry Rules are joined by Corey Erdman, analyst for The Fight Network and contributor to RingTV. Also up, a preview of Danny Garcia vs Rod Salka, and various musings and ridiculosities. Thanks for tuning in!
Thankfully this fight is still going ahead on Saturday night because until only a couple of days ago it was looking like Jose Zepeda (who fights on the under-card) was going to have to step in and replace the Argentinian Diego Chaves (23-1, 19 KOs), who was having some much publicized visa issues. After losing his last two fights by clear unanimous decisions against Mike Alvarado and Manny Pacquiao, this is a must win fight for Brandon Rios (31-2-1, 23 KOs) ,the former Light Welterweight champion hasn’t won since October 2012. Expect a war, with the hard hitting Argentinian putting “Bam Bams” granite chin to the test. We will with out a shadow of a doubt be taking live calls on air from you the voice of the people. Happy holidays to everyone out there and boxing is giving its gift this weekend with a pair of events televised on HBO and Showtime that will surely have boxing fans happy for the upcoming holidays. For this article I’ll be going over the Golden Boy Card that involves such names as Keith Thurman, Abner Mares, Victor Ortiz, and both Charlo brothers that will be headlined by Amir “King” Khan squaring off against Devon Alexander “The Great.”
Amir Khan (29-3 with 19 KOs) is a fast-handed boxer who is born and very well followed in the UK. He has fought and defeated fighters such as Marco Antonio Barea, Paulie Malignaggi, Chino Maidana, and Zab Judah. However, everything hasn’t been prefect for Khan, sustaining losses from Lamont Peterson, Danny Garcia, and of course his 1st career loss, a 1st round KO to Breidis Prescott in the UK 6 years ago.
Devon Alexander (26-2 with 14 KOs) also has a pretty darn good resume. He’s defeated fighters such as Junior Witter, Juan Urango, Randall Bailey, a controversial win against Lucas Matthysee, and he also holds wins over Andriy Kotelnik and Chino Maidana. His losses have come to the likes of Timothy Bradley and Shawn Porter. He’s more of a technical fighter with not much power, but he also is a southpaw, which could complicate the rhythm of this fight.
Timothy Bradley (31-1, 12 KOs) is one of the most determined fighters in the sport of boxing. He has shown the ability to go toe to toe with the very dangerous Ruslan Provodkinov, and outbox the very crafty Juan Manuel Marquez. Coming off a loss against Manny Pacquiao he wants to rebound with a victory against the very underrated and dangerous Diego Chaves (23-2, 19 KOs).
Chaves is a typical power punching aggressive fighter from Argentina with good boxing skills. Both fighters are looking to make a statement this Saturday night in the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
It's a busy week for the sweet science...
It's fight week for the opposing parties sometimes friendly foes HBO and Showtime. Listen in as hosts Jeandra LeBeauf and Ryan Bivins preview the dueling cards headlined by Tim Bradley v Diego Chaves and Amir Khan vs Devon Alexander respectively. Which will you be watching?

The Tale of the Tape returns after a busy weekend in Vegas with post-fight boxing banter and plenty of insight and analysis.
To start things off the guys head to the Chelsea Theatre at the Cosmopolitan to discuss the controversial decision between welterweight star Timothy Bradley and the rugged Argentine Diego Chaves. In under card action, the Irishman Andy Lee shocked the world for the second time this year with a devastating 5th round knockout of heavy favorite Matt Korobov. And Mauricio Herrera was robbed again, this time at the hands of the protected prospect, Jose Benavidez.
On the other side of town at the MGM Grand Casino, former world champion Amir Khan faced off against Devon Alexander for a possible shot at Floyd Mayweather. In other action, 'One Time' Keith Thurman returned from injury to face undefeated Italian champion Leonard Bundu. The Charlo Brothers were back in action and Viktor Ortiz and Abner Mares had something to prove.
