On April 16, 1846, nine covered wagons left Springfield, Illinois on the 2500 mile journey to California, in what would become one of the greatest tragedies in the history of westward migration. Dick regressed a 51-year-old woman back to a past-life where she found herself as a little girl at the age of 10. She and many others were trapped in snow drifts at the Donner Pass in California.
Living off the bodies of those that died along the path to Sutter’s Fort, the survivors were reduced to seven by the time they reached safety on the western side of the mountains on January 19, 1847. Only two of the ten men survived, including William Eddy and William Foster, but all five women lived through the journey. Of the eight dead, seven had been cannibalized. Immediately messages were dispatched to neighboring settlements as area residents rallied to save the rest of the Donner Party.

With the release of the report on CIA torture of prisoners of war - terrorists having been declared prisoners of war by our government under King George II of America - we are faced with the truth that our immediate past President and Vice President were and are war criminals. While there are, as some pundits have pointed out, statutes of limitations on war crimes in American law, there are not in international law. What will we do about this? Will we sit back and say that these things were necessary to protect our freedom? Will those of us claiming to be people of faith and spirituality simply look the other way, substituting our country and national interests for the God of our understanding? Or will we stand up and call for an end to these practices and an end to our government being accessories after the fact by failing to turn Bush, Cheney, et. al. over to International Justice? As people of faith, can we tolerate this behavior on the part of our government?
Time permitting, we will look at the much more pedestrian issue of Time magazine actually considering making NFL Comissioner Roger Goodell its person of the year. Even allowing that Time's person of the year may have influenced the news for better or worse, is this bumbling idiot the kind of person we believe is all that important>

It often seems like every Tom, Dick, Susan, Shailesh and Hao works for agencies. The phone calls seem incessant and the pitches seem the same. How do you choose between them.
In this episode of No B. S. Hiring Advice, Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter discusses how to evaluate and assess recruiters before committing to them.
Hiring staff doesn't have to be hard, difficult, painful, exhausting or take so long.
For most organizations, the systems you have in place do not facilitate hiring well-enough but does a great job of facilitating "applicant tracking."
Sometimes you need recruiting help. Contact me at JeffAltman@TheBigGameHunter.us and lets figure out a time to speak.
Well this has been a week of some crazy news, huh? Dick Cheney trying to justify what happened to detainees as not torture, Camille Cosby trying to explain that the accusations against Bill don't speak to who "she" knows him to be, and now the president of the Cleveland Police Union says that an NFL player was wrong for protesting the police shooting of a child because the player didn't know the law? The whole thing is like a bad dream to me. Will I wake up and find out that Michele Bachmann has really been running the country and President Obama is her puppet? What in the Sam Hill is going on here?!?! America is becoming a very sad and scary place.
Focusing on the major and sometimes overlooked topics affecting us in America today, the Nitelifer Circle of Sanity examines what is going on in Baltimore MD, Seattle WA, and all parts of the country in between. The “Media” is or isn't talking about it, but regardless, The Nitelifer Circle of Sanity is! We hope to enlighten and educate while delivering the seriousness of the issues with sarcasm and humor. Whether it is politics or social issues, The Nitelifer Circle of Sanity will be there.

The Ominous Omnibus bill needed help from Democrats to pass the House .... and it got that help. The Ominous Omnibus bill needed help from the Smurfs again to pass the Senate ..... and it got that help. Now that the Crime-nibus bill has passed what did the battle tell us about the political landscape over the next two years? Why did the Smurfs work SO hared to pass a bill that so many Smurfs say was "heavily tilted" towards the Elmos? ~~~
Also .... there is more on the toruture front as Dick Cheney has chimed in as only Dick Cheney can. ~~~
We will also talk more about oil. As the price of oil plummets below $60/bbl the benefits are obvious, but what of the consequences? ~~~
We will talk about all this and take your phone calls tonight!
