Extended Foster Care - Terry Harrak

    in Lifestyle

Terry starts the podcast asking everyone to step back from extended foster care for a moment and to look back at the reason youth came into care to begin with.  She expands on children enter into foster care because they don't have a family or "home," and then relates it to the concept of extended foster care by suggesting that an unlimited number of resources is no good, unless a person isconnected to a family structure or "home."

Today our show will delve into the safety of children in government foster care facilities (Nightingale Children's Home, for example) and the purpose of the Child Care Board, as it is strongly alleged (because no one in Barbados goes to jail for these crimes) that members of the Board and some of Barbados's elite use children in these homes for sexual gratification.  Also, Rawle Maycock, our political correspondent, will talk politics, early elections and crime in Barbados
