The Power Alley with Steve Silver and Bo Reed

    in Baseball

Welcome everyone to a brand new episode of The Power Alley with Steve Silver from 1090 The Fan in Seattle, Wa and Bo Reed from LetsTalkRangers.com. On today's show, we'll leadoff  with the front runners in American League. The Houston Astros are hot, the Detroit Tigers are kinda hot, the New Yankees are hot, and mustaches are most definitely hot, Do you know who's not hot? The Seattle Mariners are not hot. The Texas Rangers are not hot, and MLB baseball could benifit from some middle of the road production.

We'll also ask the question if it's too early in the season to sell across the board. It's worth mentioning both the Milwaukee Brewers and the Philadelphia Phillies are completely out of it, and have talent to spare. Will they try to get ahead of the market and sell now?

If you want to be apart of the show, or just want to stop off annd say hi, hit us up on Twitter @InsiderSteve and @LTRReed. We're excited to have you along for the ride. Now grab your bat, see that fastball, and drive that sucker into The Power Alley!

5/5/15: Tigers/White Sox Recap, Lions want La'el Collins, Wings and Pistons News

    in Sports

    With co-host Ed Smith.

Tigers start a 3-game series with the White Sox in Chicago.
The Lions are among 7 NFL teams interested in undrafted LSU offensive lineman La'el Collins if he's cleared in his murder inquiry.
Red Wings executive Jim Devellano considers Anthony Mantha's first pro season "very, very, very disappointing", and Mantha obviously agrees with him but still says he can play better than that. He's going nowhere.
The Philadelphia Flyers "really want" Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock to coach them.
The Boston Celtics will pursue Pistons forward Greg Monroe.

  • Party's Over! Til The Next Event (Ant Man in July) Back 2 Business Wed @7:30pm

    in Politics Conservative

Good Evening, people!  Get your latest "ringside" sonic experience this Wednesday, courtesy of Afronerd Radio's Mid Week in Review show airing promptly at 7:30pm EST.  Join Dburt and Capt. Kirk as they discuss the following issues:  as we readjust our senses from a less than stellar event filled weekend (Avengers 2, Mayweather fight), is it time that the public demand less hype and more substance from forthcoming pop culture events?; in light of Olympic legend, Bruce Jenner's transgender revelations, a recent NY Times op-ed discusses transgenders matriculating into Womens colleges; Dburt ponders why the PC police seem to be more critical of those that might be considered transracial (shout out to Sammy Sosa); a debate between Pastor Jamal Bryant and FOX' Megyn Kelly over the usage of the word "thug" during the media's reporting of the Baltimore riots affirms that liberals and conservatives both prefer to be right over righteous; are emails ruining the art of writing? (and by extension language and discourse?) ; Harvard economics professor, Dr. Roland Fryer may have cracked the code in closing the achievement gap between minorities and Whites.  And lastly, Dburt waxes about Dr. Marc Lamont Hill's recent interview on The Combat Jack podcast (hint: Black Progressives are engineered not unlike like an auto on a Detroit/Japan assembly line).  Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.

Vocalist, Nina Causey & B.O.B.S.A.'s Sam Ennon

    in Culture

We have a Bay Area treat for you in Nina Causey, vocalist. Opening for such acts as The Drifters and Temptations to name a few, Nina has been a performer for what seems like all her life. Taking her craft seriously, she earned a Bachelor’s from Roosevelt University in Chicago and her Master’s from The University of Illinois at Urbana, IL. Of course, both degrees were in her chosen field and profession, music. Twelve years of studying classical piano at Chicago’s American Conservatory of Music rounded out her musical studies. While listening to her sounds of contemporary jazz, blues to neo-soul she provides a well-rounded sound for your enjoyment. We are going to listen to a couple of her favorites and tell you how she does it.

My friend, Sam Ennon of B.O.B.S.A (Black Owned Beauty Supply Association) is going to stop by and tell us about the latest developments from his recent trip to Detroit. He will also give us an update on The Black Box Caddy trio of Hair Care Product vending machines. Remember these machines are open for Entrepreneurs investment. They are also available for placement in your Beauty, Barber or any associated type facility.

All this and playing a few of our favorite musical cuts too. As always, join us for a great time out.

    My name is Buck

    in Sports

Mind of Mansion Podcast Episode 123: Matt Kelley @fantasy_mansion breaks the news that there is no single-metric skeleton key for player evaluations.

Vince Mayle vs. Devin Funchess illustrates why College Dominator is superior to counting stats.

After the Browns drafted Duke Johnson, Washington passed Cleveland on the most imcompetent front office rankings.

Buck Allen is a far superior running back to Justin Forsett, and the Ravens know this.

If Jay Ajayi had been drafted by the Ravens, he would be a touted as a future hall of famer. Now, he's the No. 3 running back on the Dolphins.

Advanced metrics, prospect evaluations, and fantasy football information were provided by PlayerProfiler.com.

Michelle B (MichelleB), Cyclic Cushing's Bio

    in Health

Michelle was recently diagnosed with cyclic Cushing's. She has had a diagnosis of PCOS since she was 17 years old.

She writes in her bio: "I just recently received the diagnosis of cyclic Cushing’s. I’m not really sure how long I have actually had Cushing’s because I have had a diagnosis of PCOS since I was 17 yrs. old ( I’m now the ripe young age of 33). However looking back through labs with my endocrinologist who I see every 6 months, my ACTH levels have been elevated for a bit over 1 yr. It was not until recently January of 2015- things were going terribly wrong.

Starting in January I started to feel genuinely unwell, on a regular basis. I cant really explain all my symptoms there were so many different sensations and feelings that were seemingly different daily. However the red flag was I was having blood pressure spikes from really high, to very low back to back. I never had any blood pressure issues so this was a concern that led me to see a cardiologist. Upon tons of testing the cardio MD felt that something was telling my otherwise very healthy heart to do this and I should see a endocrinologist. (thank goodness for him) I contacted my endo and let him know…. the testing began."
