"Oh the weather outside is delightful;
Inside, I'm froze, and fr-fr-fr-frightful.
And there's really NO PLACE to go.
AC off, AC off - It is COLD!
I met up again with death this week, Raced FOR Time (if not my life), sweated in the yard and ice cycled off dripped off those beads - once back in the charming abode operated by the talented AC system I own. Real talented! And again, I own said equiptment, but the HVAC seems to control me. It feels like Feb inside the studio!
The week - started off sad, ended sad. Wonder if there is a theme there? Months worth of hopes and preparations, goals to achieve. Well, I achieved them, sorta kinda, but the path along the venture took a low road looking up. Why? I never did pull my chin up - even with a future at hand. If so, maybe the smile would of been brighter? Dunno. You tell me. How do you feel with a TBI, when 'stuff' seems at hand, the 'finale' in sight of a driven goal then BOOM. Will make a wondering mind stay focused - on the sad. Death, part of life. Or in our cases, part of life again and again. Stroke you wings, adore them but certainly share them. An Angel did for you...
Race4Time was a great, fun day of racing for those who don't race that often, or ever. The good Doctor, Mr. Kevin Butterfield promises made smiles. I met John Mills, Susan Hancock, and Race4Time Media Champion Ric Dee of our local G-101.3 FM station and, well, lets just say my 'weather reports' from FOX59 in Indy will provide a different "insight".
Let's just talk. No plans, but excitement a goal (and a more 'unfriendly' AC). Deborah Berry sits at my desk next week, filling in as I'm starting my vacation at the Time Clock; 2:00 A.M. sharp!
WALTER DOMINGUEZ, Latino award winning filmmaker
Being a CTE Teacher in my other life I hear all the time about students who are going to leave high school and immediately make the “Big Time $$$$” in some field of Entertainment and so today I wanted to talk to someone who has actually “been there, done that”. I give full credit for borrowing the show descriptions from my friends at Armando F. Sanchez productions and for the Information Provided by Walter’s Public Relations People
In our fast-paced, chaotic world, it is difficult (if not impossible) to imagine the lives of those who came before us, even just two generations ago. And yet, more than ever, each of us still has a yearning to connect with the past, to better understand those who came before us and made us who we are.
That is the journey undertaken by filmmaker Walter Dominguez in the extraordinary documentary “Weaving the Past: Journey of Discovery.”
As a young man, Dominguez was inspired by his grandfather, Emilio, known as “Tata,” who was one of the most prominent and beloved Mexican Methodist ministers in idyllic Santa Paula in rural Southern California. A community leader who was known for his generous heart and kind spirit, Tata died in 1973. Three decades later, with the generation that knew Tata best quickly dying away, Dominguez picked up his camera to uncover the long-hidden secrets of Tata’s earliest years.
Walter brings to this award-winning film his unique sensibility as a storyteller and his perspective as an American Latino. Walter’s skills are a result of his extensive background as a director, assistant director, 2nd unit director, writer and producer in Hollywood studio features, television series, independent features.
Dr. James Perdue Professional Motivational / Inspirational Speaker and Author of “One More Play” is my guest.
Dr. James’s website: www.JamesPerdueSpeaks.com
James was a normal 19 year old with expectation of playing professional baseball, the major leagues. He was attending Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee on a baseball scholarship. He had the attitude of being invincible. After only being in college for two weeks and playing one college game in the fall, unexpected tragedy came a calling.
On September 11, 1983, James became a quadriplegic, dislocating three vertebras in his neck, from playing a football game. The doctor said, “James, I’m sorry. You’ll never walk again and you might be paralyzed from your neck down.” Later, the doctor advised his family to put him in a nursing home; he would be too much of a burden for them to take care.
Hear how Dr. Perdue worked hard to achieve success as a teacher and coach. He has been awarded Fox 17 Top Teacher of the Week 2005, Teacher of the Year 2002, as well as, Coach of the Year 2006 and 2000. He received the Jo Andrews Award 1995 and the Dr. Ramer Award 1991 both for overcoming adversity. Recently, he received his doctorate degree, in May 2011, from Tennessee State University. His demonstration of not giving up and striving through major challenges is apparent. Dr. Perdue knows he can help others pass through to the other side of tragedies to become triumph and become a survivor of difficulties.
What would you do if tragedy comes knocking at your door. You could run but you can’t hide. Do you have what it takes to overcome adversity? Dr. James Perdue will give you the three Ps that will encourage you to confront your troubles and learn how to succeed in life as well as in business.

Marlene Banks I am a novelist with a vivid imagination and passionate admiration of the well written word. My love of Jesus, The Christ and rich storytelling has produced an eager wordsmith-gone-wild. To write for the Kingdom is a humbling honor that I do not take lightly. I love writing tales that demonstrate God's hand in our lives. I get a great deal of satisfaction crafting stories that explore the psychology of why people are who they are and do what they do. I can make it simple and uncomplicated or complex and multilayered but I usually weave relational plots that engage the natural with the spiritual.

Miami, FL – In the heart of Miami Beach, Sally Drinkhouse and Nicole Pritchett are opening one of the coolest additions to the hottest city in Florida: ice bar and premier lounge Drinkhouse Fire and Ice, the first of its kind in South Florida, is set to open in the spring across from the Ritz-Carlton in South Beach.
Every inch of the bar will be made from ice, from the furniture to the art and even the drink glasses. However, one of the most notable features of the ice bar is its state of the art LED light system and energetic décor – selenite tables, crystals and photography by Peter Lik, one of the world’s most renowned landscape photographers.
“Selenite is a powerful crystal known for its ability to remove negativity from its surroundings,” says Drinkhouse.
The bar will also feature world-class ice sculptures and unique hand-carved pieces courtesy of award-winning ice sculptor David Berman.
"I think this city is ready for a truly unique entertainment experience," says Drinkhouse.
On the weekends the lounge will feature both locally and internationally-known DJ’s, as well as feature talented choreographers from around the world, like internet sensation Lady Casa, whose following is incomparable in the nightlife dance scene.
In addition to the Ice bar, Samadhi lounge, a ‘warm’ bar and elite speakeasy located within the ice bar, will feature unpretentious service, energetic décor, and the freshest ingredients mixed with the finest spirits to offer exceptional cocktails and an intimate, memorable experience.
The temperature inside the bar will be kept at a cool 23 degrees and guests will be supplied with faux fur-lined hooded capes and leather gloves to keep warm.
