Forgiving someone takes courage and love. Using the power of forgiveness can be a life changing experience. According to actor, Anthony Anderson, the co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Power of Forgiveness, “You can always take the first step. You can always extend the olive branch whether you feel it’s your duty or not.”
Anthony concludes his inspiring story by saying, “I learned that life is fleeting so we need to LIVE and LOVE in the moment! And that is how I live my life. I no longer hold onto negativity and pain. I tell my loved ones and friends how I feel.”
Join Amy Newmark, the publisher and editor-in-chief for Chicken Soup and me on Tuesday, December 23, 10-11 A.M. CT US, as we discuss revealing personal stories that will motivate you to let go and get on with your own life.
In this episode I'll discuss how giving money to charitable causes helps us stay financially healthy. It's a great paradox that the more generous we are, the richer we become both in spirit AND in our bank accounts. I'll talk about the benefits of giving, the barriers to giving, how to get started on your journey to becoming a generous giver. Email me questions you have on tithing, giving, and charities before or during the show! Christine@ChristineLuken.com

Oh, eternal and everlasting God, direct my thoughts, words and work. Wash away my sins in the immaculate blood of the Lamb and purge my heart by Thy Holy Spirit. Daily, frame me more and more in the likeness of Thy son, Jesus Christ, that living in Thy fear, and dying in Thy favor, I may in thy appointed time obtain the resurrection of the justified unto eternal life. Bless, O Lord, the whole race of mankind and let the world be filled with the knowledge of Thee and Thy son, Jesus Christ. George Washington, Prayer

2014 has been a rough year for military personnel and members of the veterans community. The year began with a budget crisis, following a government shutdown and over five years without a signed and approved Federal Budget. And while some sense of fiscal responsibility seems to have finally come to the White House and Congress, things for those who still serve, and have served, continue to go from bad to worse. Forced drawdowns of active-duty military personnel continue, despite escalations of enemy action in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria. The Department of Veterans Affairs, despite the firing of its top leadership and years of saying that they are, "working the problems," in fact was proven in 2014 to be a criminally corrupt and morally bankrupt organization totally failing in their chartered mission. And as if to punctuate the continuing downward spiral for individuals who serve and have served, service/veterans benefits continue to be eroded in the Fiscal Year 2015 budget, which offers only a paltry 1% pay increase to those who go into harms way for America.
To get a better sense of just what military personnel and veterans will be facing in the coming year, join military historian, author and journalist John D. Gresham (@Greshamj01) for Military Monday at 1 p.m. Eastern. His guest co-host this week will be journalist Donna Lyons. Herself a military/veterans spouse, Ms. Lyons writes extensively about the service/veterans community, and has her own intriguing observations regarding their present day experiences and service. Callers are encouraged to call in and offer questions and opinions to Mr. Gresham and Ms. Lyons, in an hour that we are dedicating to those who serve, those who have served, and those who will serve. Please join us.

Are there truly any die-hard male versus female, or, more precisely, gender-specific role or roles that exists and must be adhered to - or else - in a "working" relationship?
I say, Hell No!.......Besides being each others physical and therefore, sexual complement, there is no such thing when you really-really think about it.
Join Jahwie & Nalagy while we discuss yet another self-imposed roadblock that couples tend to adhere to to their own joy demise, if you will.......And, of course, the workable solutions we recommend.

I have been part of saving over 1200 families from losing their home. I can help stop the sheriff sale, help postpone the sheriff sale, work with the lenders to get results, assist with filing complaints to the appropriate regulating agencies and much more. This service is free and very effective. Recently I sent a letter to every senator, congressman and representative requesting a change in legislation to remove foreclosures off the consumers credit report. I know that the lenders have committed fraud and foreclosed on many families. Some families had a father or mother in active duty fighting overseas while their home was foreclosed here in the US. Some homes were foreclosed even when they were fully paid off. Other homes were foreclosed on by lenders that did not have a mortgage on the property. The question would be, "why should the consumer’s credit report be damaged because of the lender's fraud..
Born in Louisiana, Wes Ricks' music is a by-product of his Choctaw Indian roots, but oddly enough, his musical journey began in Vietnam. From 1966 to 1967 he was a "River Rat" for the U.S. Navy patrolling the waters -- "a sitting duck" in a small 2-man boat, often 24-hour days, looking for Viet Cong and smugglers carrying contraband -- drugs, munitions and anything that would aid the enemy. After his tour of duty Wes signed up for guitar and keyboard lessons through the Phoenix VA Health System's Recreation Therapy program. But soon after, as he and his late wife, Margie walked through the Mall in Tempe, AZ the distinctive sound of a pentatonic flute being played by Native American flutist, Sagio called to him -- and Wes was hooked. His musical career was put on hold for 12 years, while he cared for his wife until her death in 2007. Now, he volunteers at the VA, travels and through his music Wes expresses his "inner self." His heritage, heartache, harrowing experiences and happiness are all part of his music. Oliver Wendell Holmes said: "Many people will die with their music still in them." But Wes Ricks won't be one of those people.

Every day 23 vets and/or active military commit suicide. There is a divorce rate of between 80-90% among military families. Chad Robichaux is changing that statistic – and he's changing it with the incredible love of Jesus! His faith-based Mighty Oaks Warrior program can boast that no soldiers have committed suicide after going through his program!
Chad did 8 tours in Afghanistan as a Special Operations Force Recon Marine, and he received the Medal of Valor for his service in law enforcement. He has his PhD and MBA, he's a professional MMA fighter, a best selling author, and he and his family have survived PTSD. His book "Redeployed" tells of his journey, and his recovery.
Chad is the first to say that faith in Jesus is the key to healing. Now, Chad still does the occasional MMA fight – but most of his time is spent leading the Mighty Oaks Warrior program, and serving Veterans in need through Serving California.
With the Might Oaks Warrior Program – Chad and his team work one on one with active duty military and veterans. This is a faith-based immersion program that now the military is recommending to soldiers who are suffering from extreme PTSD. This program uses NO DRUGS, and, again, can boast that no soldiers have committed suicide after going through the program! There have been no divorces in families that have gone though the program! And now Chad is training counselors across the country, starting new programs and helping soldiers and vets heal through the love of the Great Physician.
Chad was also extremely influential in helping with the release of Sgt. Tahmooresi – the Marine who was held prisoner in Mexico after accidentally crossing the border with weapons in his car.
