How the WSBA (Washington State Bar Association) perpetuates corruption

    in Legal

The Washington State Bar Association is just that: An Association, a little club, you pay big bucks to be a part of that club if you are an attorney & if you step out of line you will pay dearly. The incestuous nature of the Bar, Prosecutors, Lawyers, Judges & the Courts is what helps the corruption in our state thrive. They are in charge of "policing" themselves so why would it benefit the hands that are feeding their greedy little mouths? Ever wonder why there are no "lawyers in the news" in Washington state? Those lawyers who champion for the underdog, who make all things right & restore someone rights? They can't do that here, & the one's who have tired are currently unemployed, stripped of their license or currently under investigation, We are going to discuss just "how the bar works & "why" it does not this week.

Lee Daniels: It Was Denzel Who Made ‘The Butler’ Sing

    in Entertainment

How do you know you’ve made it big in Hollywood—we mean, really, really big? One measure would be when Denzel Washington stops over your house to help punch up your script. And for free, no less. So we can pretty much agree that Lee Daniels has arrived big time. In 2001, after an unlikely career that took him from nursing-agency owner to casting director to talent-agency owner, he produced Monster’s Ball, which won its star, Halle Berry, an Academy Award. Next he directed Precious, another Oscar darling, which snagged a statue for comedian Mo’Nique. Then came The Butler, co-starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey, which had uncredited assistance behind the scenes from one of cinema’s more powerful voices. “Denzel and I are friends and he was helping me with the sctipt,” Lee tells us. “I think we joked around about what would you do if you were playing the character? But at the time he couldn’t do it because he was unavailable anyway. Denzel is a dear friend of mine and he helped me incredibly with the story.”

Antoine Fuqua: Denzel Washington’s Just Your Average Joe

    in Entertainment

Don’t tell Antoine Fuqua that Denzel Washington’s playing, well, Denzel Washington in their new flick together, The Equalizer. Instead, the director—who made his name making Denzel over as a bad boy in 2001’s Training Day—wants you to feel that his superstar collaborator is nothing more than a working stiff. “He’s reluctant hero. He’s a guy who has issues—OCD, post-traumatic stress, he can’t sleep at night. He’s not slick in any way,” Antoine tells Keeping It Reel with Film Gordon correspondent Wilson Morales. “When we did a dress rehearsal, and we were just tryin’ on shirts and stuff, he walked out and my cameramen were standin’ there waitin’ for Denzel and—literally—they didn’t know he’d already walked out was standin’ there waitin’ for us. They didn’t recognize him. He’s a cameleon.” The Equalizer, which opens Sept. 26, tells the story of a former black ops commando who faked his death for a quiet life, but comes out of his retirement to rescue a young girl.

The BSD Basketbro Show! Episode 1.6: Duquesne And George Washington

    in Sports

Another week, another episode of the BSD Basketbro Show! This week, the guys are confused, because after narrowly beating Duquesne (or, rather, duqane) and beating up George Washington, Penn State hoops may actually be pretty good. Bill DiFilippo, Eric Gibson and Chad Markulics discuss the two games from this past week, preview the upcoming games to finish the non-conference slate against Drexel and Dartmouth, talk about some of the major players from the past few games -- we're looking at you, Geno Thorpe and Jordan Dickerson -- and try to answer a simple question: at 10-1 with votes in both the AP and Coaches polls, is Penn State basketball good? There's also the general silliness that comes from the podcast, but you already knew that. So sit down, turn your headphones up, and get ready for the latest episode of the best damn Penn State hoops podcast on the Internet.
