Tonight I want to talk about prepper depression. Are you suffering? Have you suffered? More importantly what do you do to cope with it? There are moments in my own life when I get down into a hole because the future looks so bleak. I get afraid for my children and their children. I want recovery and success but I also understand that before that can really happen we have to have some growing pains. Its easy to pretend like nothing phases you and life is all coming up roses but if you are in the preparedness world and you make it your business to understand and mitigate threats than you better have a method to blow off steam. Otherwise you could wind up on the news as one of these crazy mass shooters who cracked under the pressure of life.

THE AUTHORS WORDS on the World Of Ink Network

    in Books

JD Holiday talks with the author Debbie Roppolo. She is the author of many short stories including being published in Chicken Soup for the Coffee Lover's Soul, and Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul.  Klutzin’Around the Christmas Tree was the title for an anthology. In 2011 Debbie published her first children's book, Amelia Frump and her Peanut Butter Loving, Overactive Imagination which she patterned the character "Amelia" after her own childhood. In 2013, Amelia Frump...is Cooking Up a Peanut Butter Storm won second place in the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards. Her book, He's My Brother focuses on how siblings sometimes feel alone after a diagnosis of autism.

After Debbie's son, Joseph was diagnosed with autism, she felt the need to raise awareness about the disorder and become an advocate through her writing. Doing research and conversations with her older son Jonathan, she discovered that siblings sometimes feel alone after a diagnosis of autism. There is little focus on their thoughts and emotions, and they are are forced to cope alone.

He's My Brother was written with the intent of bringing awareness to this situation in addition to supplying information about autism.

#142 Dr. Monica Schaeffer - Easy and Fun Ways to Help Children Cope with Stress

    in Psychology

Auntie Nellie's Magical Pockets is both an entertaining and educational story about a boy named Casey, whose amusing, helpful Aunt comes to visit for a week. Out of her amazingly deep, bottomless pockets, she pulls anti-stress gadgets. Using these gadgets, Casey learns to cope with six common, stressful childhood situations, including handling a major disappointment, getting teased, and learning a new skill. In the final chapter, Casey uses two of these gadgets, his Who-Can-I-Tell? Megaphone and his Save-the-Day Idea Bank, to help his friend the way Auntie Nellie helped him.

As a bonus, Parent/Teacher Notes are included in each chapter. They provide the adult reader with the principles behind the gadgets, as well as additional tips for helping the child practice the new coping skills.

Monica H. Schaeffer, Ph.D., is a health psychologist who has conducted research and led workshops on stress and decision-making and stress management. She has been published in a number of professional journals on the effects of environmental stress, commuter stress, and illness severity. After studying stress in adults, both acute and chronic, Dr. Schaeffer recognized that children could benefit from possessing a repertoire of coping techniques to prevent the harmful effects of stress. In fact, the stories and techniques included in this book began taking shape when her oldest daughter communicated that she was not satisfied with simply having bedtime stories read to her and would exclaim, "tell me a story from your mind." Currently Dr. Schaeffer is the president of the non-profit organization, VITAL, Inc. (www.vitalinc.org) and facilitates workshops on ethical wills/legacy letters. Her hobbies include photography, travel, and museum hopping.

The Female Solution: How Do You Cope When Your Spouse Is A War Veteran?

    in Religion

RTW Veteran Center offers a home, food, and a family atmosphere to homeless veterans who have returned from war only to find that the family they had can no longer cope with them and the country they risked their lives to defend has forgotten them. Today we're working together to give special support to RTW - which stands for Remaking The World. So many famlies are in crisis, suffering the effects of the military veterans have come home still suffering from the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder of combat, and having nowhere to turn for counseling. How do you cope when your spouse is a war veteran? Could a sudden flashback cause them to pick up a weapon and do you bodily harm? Female veterans are suffering even greater issues, many having been survivors of rape by their fellow officers, and not able to report the incidences or seek justice, are still living with the trauma after they have returned home. Dr. Daniel Habeel and Arnetha Habeel discuss their struggle to provide a home and a place of healing for service men and women. Other guests join us to tell their shocking stories. We urge you to lend a helping hand today, by going to www.rtwvetcenter.org and hit "Donate"!

Deliver Us from Evil, with special guest Kevin Annett and host, Michael-Jay

    in Current Events

Deliver us from evil is part of the prayer that our Lord instructs His disciples to pray, even and especially today. The kingdom of God is about fighting and ending evil. But, the spirit of evil is a very horrifying reality and most people are very poorly equipped to cope with it. Tonight we are going to discuss some aspects of the terrifying wickedness that has defined multitudes of people, in past and present generations, because God is bringing His battle with darkness out into the light. There has been a movement in past and present generations to increase evil in the earth. The fury of God's enemies is being released by active investment in evil, because of demonic rage being invoked by deceived men and women. Tonight we are interviewing again a brother in Christ, Kevin Annett, who is a founding member of the group ITCCS.org. We are going to talk about the policies of intentional genocides and the connections with war, war making, satanic ritual abuse, child kidnapping, Ndrangata, Mafia church and state connections and the ongoing battle with enfranchised evil. May God, the Father, deliver us from this evil. My name is Michael-Jay, the call in number is 347-826-9733.
