Meet the first African American Stewardess hired by Delta Air Lines in1966 !
In all of the stories about aviation and its history, the stories of the first African American stewardesses have been left untold and unknown. We first took to the skies when flying was glamorous and exclusive and little girls dreamt of being stewadesses, models, or movie stars. We rubbed elbows with the elite and we traveled the world when few others could. We flew as pioneers in a global society long before the time of the Internet and globalization. We also kept our heads high facing down racial prejudice and discrimination. We lived as Stars in the Sky
Patricia Grace Murphy was the first African American Stewardess to break the color barrier for Delta Air Lines. Pat's stories and other pioneers in aviation are featured in my book Stars in the Sky which will be released in November. Visit the archives to hear the show and listen to my call in guest Terry Taylor another African American Stewardess featured in my book, exchange stories with Pat about the early years of flying. We were also honored to have Pat's first supervisior, June Huerman share some stories about those turbulent days and assisting Pat with her new life in aviation.
Please listen each week for updates on my book, or visit my website www.theflygirl10.com
Clara Bellino’s musical genesis is interesting and memorable, and easily translates into a hybrid of classic American songwriting mixed with the romanticism of French jazz and classical roots. It’s an intoxicating and charming mix of old world meets new with a…pardon the pun…French twist. What Bellino has managed to do with this set of songs is to show a versatility, deft vocal touch and an attention to detail that shines through every moment of the record.
Join us as Clara shares with us a new Listener Participation Project she is currently working on. This will be a very special Night With Daddy G and the lovely Clara Bellino!

Skit, "Why is it Touch to Clean up the Niger Delta?" illustrates how the Niger Delta in Nigeria has the worst type of environmental petroleum pollution. They say, the pollution is so bad that it creates the biggest green-house effects in African continent. For years, the United Nation has warned to the Federal government of Nigeria to clean up the Niger Delta petroleum pollution, but to this date, nothing has been done. The people in the Niger Delta suffer not only the environmental pollution, but suffer illness, lack of food, lack of employment and the violence, threats, terrorists among other things.
