    in Soccer

Ej Garr and Michael Lewis present .... Into the Cosmos!

Week 2 of the NASL season gets underway, and we have all your New York Cosmos news, as well as coverage of the Indy Eleven, who we face this upcoming Saturday, April 11.

The guys review opening weekend for the Cosmos, after the 1 - 0 win vs Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday April 4.

This week, we interview defensemen Jimmy Mulligan, who came into the game just after the hour mark to help the team secure the only clean sheet held in the entire NASL opening day!

We also speak with Don Smart of Indy Eleven, who scored the team's only goal in a 1 - 1 draw with time winding down from the penalty spot.

We discuss the Tuesday media day conversations with Coach Gio, and give you all you need to know to prepare for the match against Indy Eleven at 'The Mike' - Michael Carroll Stadium.

Defenseman Marek Zidlicky and left-winger Erik Cole still prove the Wings made two good trades, but some of their other defensemen are a group of slouches, which is a reason why the Wings may look at another first-round exit from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I break down what they need to do in the offseason ahead of time. Center Darren Helm is also needed back, and so is defenseman Alexey Marchenko.

Are the Pistons tanking again with their long losing streak? Is Brandon Jennings's season-ending injury really the excuse? What do they need to do? My own blog will explain it to you.

The Michigan Wolverines bow out early and hope for an NIT Tournament berth, while the NCAA Tournament-bound Michigan State Spartans still play in the Big Ten Tournament, and the Central Michigan Chippewas, Western Michigan Broncos, and Eastern Michigan Eagles hoop it up for the MAC Tournament Championship.

The Lions sign two defensive tackles, Haloti Ngata and Tyrunn Walker. Plus, they are the 5th worst in trade value and are the only NFL team to lose money last year. General manager Martin Mayhew and President of Football Operations Tom Lewand ignore the media as well.

The Tigers are piling up a list of players having sore muscles game by game, while newcoming center-fielder Anthony Gose is still flashing his new swing and his red hot batting stats this Spring Training preseason.

    Seven: Teal Tears

    in Hockey

It's week five of the Pacific division summer preview series, and we've finally reached the only place that really matters: California. It's time to discuss the San Jose Sharks, who had yet another fantastic season, finishing 2nd in the Pacific with 111 points, only to flame out in the playoffs in perhaps their most hilarious fashion yet, blowing a 3-0 series lead in the first round to.....wait for it.....the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings! Since then it's been a summer of confusion and craziness in the Bay Area, as Doug Wilson lost his mind and declared a rebuild was starting, teasing that he wanted to move one or both of his franchise cornerstones Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau, but ultimately settled for moving out some ancient defensemen, adding ice girls (?), and signing John Scott (???). What does it all mean for the Sharks? We'll try to make heads or tails of it with two very special guests: Derek from Fear the Fin, perhaps better known as The Neutral or the guy who runs the popular @fearthefin Twitter account, and Stace (@stace_ofbase) of alleged hockey site Battle of California. Folks, you won't wanna miss this one!
