HOLLYWOOD A-LISTERS, A&R EXECUTIVES, CELEBRITY NEWS, SMALL BUSINESS

    in Radio

Eddie "A&R Eddie" Fourcell is currently head of A&R for Mary J. Blige's Matriarch Entertainment/Universal Music Group and head of 4Cell Entertainment, where he manages up and coming songstress Maryland Lavon.
His rise to a career as an A&R started in high school at the age of 17 years old when he was rewarded an internship with Island Def Jam through the schools internship program. At the time, the label was home to superstar heavyweights Jay Z, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Fabolous, and Young Jeezy, just to name a few. After making several connections and networking within the company, Eddie was able to partner with industry heavyweights that saw management opportunities for artist/producers/songwriters and after graduating from College, was asked to intern for Mary J. Blige's newly created record label, Matriarch Entertainment. In less than a year of interning there, he was asked by CEO and manager/husband to Mary J. Blige to work as lead A&R on Ms. Blige's 11th studio album, My Life II: The Journey Continues (2011).

While at the company he has worked as an A&R on Ms. Blige's Think Like A Man 2 Soundtrack and Mary's most recent critically acclaimed masterpiece The London Session. He has also worked on projects for label artist Starshell.

A&R Eddie's ability to spot raw talent and develop them makes him amongst the hottest A&R's making a meaningful impact within the music industry.

    Sam Scarfo - @SamScarfo

Sam Scarfo is a gifted songwriter who began his musical career with local emcees from his hometown of Plainfield, New Jersey. Bubbling under the surface for years, he calmly created a movement powerful enough to catch the attention of acclaimed video director Bennie Boom. As a former battle champion and Def Jam artist, Scarfo has released his own independent albums like The Package in 2012 and 5 Million Stories in 2014.

Sam signed a management deal with IBC Entertainment in 2003 with hopes of securing a major label deal. With limited media resources available in the Garden State, Scarfo decided to enter the underground New York City battle circuit to attract attention to himself and his own record label, Gorilla Pimp Recordings.

JAY ANTHONY BROWN - EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW -TUE, MAR 17, 2015 - 7 :00 PM PST

    in Music

James Anthony Brown (born in Columbia, South Carolina) is an American comedian, actor and radio personality. He received thePeabody Award and the NAACP Image Award.

Brown started his career in Atlanta, Georgia, after relocating there from his home in South Carolina almost thirty years ago.[when?] A tailor by trade, Brown aspired to be a clothing designer before putting together a comedy routine after entering a local 'gong show' contest in a local nightclub, Mr. V's Figure Eight. Invited back to host on a regular basis, Brown became a fixture, performing there for the next two years.

He left Atlanta for Los Angeles, California, in 1989 to pursue work in television, quickly finding a job as a staff writer for the nationally syndicated, late-night talk show, The Arsenio Hall Show. After five years, Brown found other writing assignments for such sitcoms as The Parenthood and Me and the Boys.

He has performed on Vibe, Def Comedy Jam, It's Showtime at the Apollo, An Evening at the Improv and The Oprah Winfrey Show, and had recurring roles on Moesha, Living Single and The Parenthood, as well as guest spots on The Parkers and Sparks. His motion picture work includes roles in Def Jam's How to Be a Player, Pay the Price, Drumline and Mr. 3000. He has also warmed up audiences at the tapings of Martin, Sister, Sister, Roc and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper.

Brown is currently[when?] appearing on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, a nationwide radio show broadcast from Dallas, Texas.

SPECIAL GUEST - UK SINGER/SONGWRITER - MATT JAMES

    in Entertainment

Matt James hails from the garden that is Yorkshire. If Yorkshire is a garden then Sheffield is the proverbial prize winning apple tree. In musical terms at least. A city producing a rich history of top acts. Def Leppard, The Human League, Mr Jarvis Cocker and most recently The Arctic Monkeys. Yet the tree still bears fruit. Matt James has launched himself onto the scene with gusto. His frank and vivid view of his life and the world surrounding him have endeared him to audiences across the county. Looking at him and his scruffy hair you would have no idea he was an ex soldier. Much like an early James Blunt but not so posh. His songs are most influenced by his Father's record collection, Fleetwood Mac and the Beautiful South being the strongest. Matt James real name (Matthew James Mclauchlan) performs a hooky narrative of subject matter important to him. If you listen close it's easy to pick out the harmonies Fleetwood Mac would be proud of and the story telling abilities of Paul Heaton. His tracks 'Sweet Satellite' and 'Summer' have appeared on BBC Introducing in Sheffield and the future holds much promise for Matt. His forth coming debut EP 'Crawl Walk Run' shall be released in the near future.

Matt will join Take 2 Radio Music on Wednesday, March 11th at 3pm eastern!
