THE BEAUTY AND MYSTIQUE OF FASHION!
When and where did it all begin. Even in a field so much concerned as fashion is with what is current, a backward look is essential in evaluating present trends and anticipating those of the future.
When we apply lipstick, put on a coat and pick-up our gloves, we are paying tribute to fashion trends that reach far back into the history of man. Lipstick has it's orgin in the skin decorations used by the earliest caveman. The coat is the latest version of the original mantle or cape developed when the last ice age was beginning to thaw and when animal skins worn by men began to be fashioned into different types of garments.
First clothes were...etc.
Can fashion be dictated...etc.

Coming to you live from Costa Rica and brought to you by the La Reserva Forest Foundation (LRFF). Participate in the show by calling in or participating in the "green" chat room. LRFF is working to solve climate change and lost resources by restoring the tropical forests in the "lungs of the world".
Climate change is our continuing topic. The majority of people are very uninformed about cc because it has become unmentionable in the mainstream media. Talking about it is the first step to solving it.
As always great roots and culture music plus interesting Caribbean news and events.

In our present society, Halloween gets a bad rap! In recent times, It has become a commercial holiday all about goblins, ghosts, witches, zombies and monsters, but that is not what this holiday is about at all. The recent concept of the holiday literally mocks the original and focuses on the buying of costumes, masquerade parties, decorations, candy, etc. The original meaning has been lost.
Challenge your thinking and join us for our show tonight--ALL ABOUT SAMHAIN! What you thought about Halloween is really a bastardization of the beauty and ritual of the original holiday, Samhain, the Celtic New Year in ancient times.
During Samhain, the veil between our world and the OTHER WORLD is thin and it is said that the spirits, our ancestors walk between the two worlds. It is a perfect time of the year to remember and honor those loved ones who have gone on before us. Find out about the sacredness of the rituals, the customs and the practices of pantheists and pagans at this time of year and join us to listen to some traditional music.
CALL IN or join us in the CHAT ROOM.
