    in Writing

This episode of Behind the Prose features an interview with writer and artist Soo Na Pak.

On Sunday’s show, we’ll analyze her two pieces “Woman” - a tribute to Amy Winehouse and “Osiris.”

We will discuss Soo Na's use of voice and tone in her narrative. She's also skilled at adeptly mixing abstract and concrete elements in nonfiction, and we'll get to the bottom of how she does it!  Or at least close to somewhere in the middle.

American Patriot Radio, Saturday Night at the Movies

    in Education

    Season 1 Revolution

The series is set in a post-apocalyptic near-future, in the year 2027, where fifteen years ago in the year 2012, a worldwide event known as "The Blackout" caused all of the electricity on Earth, ranging from computers and electronics to car and jet engines, to be permanently disabled, causing trains and cars stopped where they were, ships to go dead in the water, and fly-by-wire aircraft to fall from the sky and crash. Over the next fifteen years after the Blackout, people have adapted to this new world without electricity and due to the collapse of government and public order, several areas were ruled by militias and their generals.

Tonight we have episodes 9 through 12

Life After Christianity 101: Energy Vampires

    in Religion

We have been covering some heavy information concerning energy and how the knowledge of energy relates to the practices of Christianity and other religions. A brottha reached out to me with two questions: “How does one know if he/she is an energy vampire, and how can one fix themselves if they are one?” Tonight, we will explore the many characteristics of an energy vampire, how to spot one and how to get rid of them. Also, my “secrets” on energy maintenance that is essential to being balanced after breaking free from religion and much more.....

ABOUT THE HOST: Life After Christianity 101 was created by radio host Empress T'Malkia Zuri in 2012 on her own blogtalk network "Dynasty Network 1382." She began her radio career on a Christian radio station in Phoenix, AZ KXXT 1010. After refusing to "dumb down" her topics, a mutual agreement was met and Empress T was released from the contract after refusing to conform to their request.

Empress T is a recovering Christian who is 36 months clean after 44 years of indoctrination, and celebrates her sobriety date on Dec. 27th. She has devoted much of her time to sharing what she has learned about the mental affects of Christianity in the Black Family. She is a former National licensed Minister under one of the largest churches in the U.S, a former Armour Bearer to 2 pastors and a bishop, and a former Sunday School and bible teacher. Empress T is also entering her second year (in June) as a student at the University of Metaphysics in Arizona and is obtaining a degree in Transpersonal Psychology.

Empress T's main objective is "NOT to CONVERT our people, but to PROVOKE our people to think and study for themselves". Remember....Her tagline is REVERSING THE CURSE OF RELIGION, and her main point is to remind all who tune in that YOU ARE THE VERY GOD YOU ARE SEEKING

An Artist Speaks Season 3 Episode 2 with Guest James Fox

    in Art

An entertaining interview with Fine Art Photographer James Fox.

James Fox has been a Fine Art Photographer since 1973. He has had several one person and group gallery exhibits and in 2012 James participated in a 5 month two person show at the Rockwell Museum of Western Art in Corning NY.

“Much of my Fine Art Photography is abstract I feel that I’m responding emotionally to a something found.”

“Look at the world twice if you wish to see all there is to see.”  This advice, attributed to an Indian sage, best explains what happens to me when I’m looking for images. Second looks often take many years to acquire and even then the vision is less than complete.  Second looks are necessary for the artist.  Over the years I would look at various locations or subjects and wonder how to make such beauty accessible to me as a photographer and how to translate what I feel to an image.  My second looks begin only after a scene has taken hold of my imagination and demands action.
