THE CANARY with Jacqueline T. Moore
RECIPE FOR ADVENTURE
1 spunky widow
1 hateful church lady
2 sailors & 1 checkerboard
5 little darlin’s + I smarty stinker
Add 1 apron pocket full of jewels
Mix well and bake in the 1890’s Galveston heat
Myra Gallaway, a young widow with five children, supports her family by walking the wharves of Galveston selling homemade sweets. She never imagined she’d be joining forces with husband-hating church society queen, Julia Jameson. Myra’s apron pockets are soon filling up with the unspendables man smuggling sailor friends Sure Foot and Black Jack need to move. The Klondike gold fields are calling hapless dreamers and the boys are all about obliging them, yet everybody knows that a sailor cannot spend what he does not earn.
Some people call Jacqueline T. Moore a snowbird because she spends so much time writing in South Carolina. Not so. She loves the Ohio winters with all the ice and snow. She says, “Traveling south in the summer makes me a sunflower…and a beach bum!” As a writer and educator, Jacqueline surrounds herself with words. She savors the sounds and sense of letters put together to create a lasting memory. Her debut novel, THE CANARY, is inspired by a most beautiful yellow diamond that rests on her finger and the whispered family secrets about how it got there.
Please visit her at www.jacqueline-t-moore.com and on Facebook at Jacqueline T. Moore for conversations and updates on her next book, THE CHECKERBOARD.

When Eli Roebuck was a little boy, his mother left the family with a large, hairy creature that Eli would come to think of as a Sasquatch. Author Sharma Shields joins host Linda Rez of Minstrel and Muse to discuss her incredible debut novel, The Sasquatch Hunter's Almanac, Eli's quest to find and destroy the mythical Sasquatch, Mr. Krantz. As the reviewer for The Stranger commented, "It's a hell of a book", the television rights have been secured and it's one of Entertainment Weekly and O Magazine's best of 2015.
Eli Roebuck was nine years old when his mother walked off into the woods with "Mr. Krantz," a large, strange, hairy man who may or may not be a sasquatch. What Eli knows for certain is that his mother went willingly, leaving her only son behind. For the rest of his life, Eli is obsessed with the hunt for the bizarre creature his mother chose over him, and we watch it affect every relationship he has in his long life--with his father, with both of his wives, his children, grandchildren, and colleagues. We follow all of the Roebuck family members, witnessing through each of them the painful, isolating effects of Eli's maniacal hunt, and find that each Roebuck is battling a monster of his or her own, sometimes literally. The magical world Shields has created is one of unicorns and lake monsters, ghosts and reincarnations, tricksters and hexes. The Sasquatch Hunter's Almanac is boldly imaginative throughout, and proves to be a devastatingly real portrait of the demons that we as human beings all face.

Tonight on SWAG Radio, Deidra Lashay and Yara Kaleemah will be chatting live with Shantay and a host of authors from Boss Chic Publications.
Boss ChicEmpire is ran by Shanty, author of the Boss Chic Series.
Shantay is the CEO of Boss Chic Empire Publications. At only 19-years-old writing comes easy to her. She first hit the literary scene in July of 2014 where she was signed to Sullivan Productions, LLC. Her first debut novel was entitled "A Boss Chic: A Love Story" by the end of the weekend her book skyrocketed to number one on the Urban Best Selling Charts on Amazon. She stuck to her guns and made her first novel be the motivation she needed to continue.
Shantay had dabbled in writing before but it didn't seem to work out for her. She was more into reading Urban Fiction. When she was convinced and persuaded by her best friend to try and write again for a hobby she was shocked that her story was flowing naturally. When she found her pace and her flow she took further steps of being a published author.
Bring you to today she is currently working one of her many books and running the company. She started Boss Chic Empire to target young girls that have a bright literary future to take under her wings. She is currently molding and shaping her authors to bring out the best that they can be.

Chizellé T. Archie hails from Atlanta, Georgia by way of the sunny Gulf Coast of Mobile, Alabama. She is a Registered Nurse for the Infectious Disease Program with Grady Health Systems.
Several years ago, after noticing the alarming statistics of the HIV rate of African American women, Chizellé became fed up with the way her African American brothers and sisters (young alike), were beginning to settle for any and everything, in that having safe sex was not an option anymore. Lastly, what disturbed her most was there are so many people sitting in the church pews each Sunday masking their hurt, because of the stigma associated with this epidemic, and yet the one place they feel most comfortable is the one place that leaves them feeling so alone.
In 2010, Chizellé landed on the literary scene with authority, and it was with great fortitude that she penned her debut novel, The Fearfully and Wonderfully Made Diamond, in which her life experiences have allowed her to grab hold and take nothing less, realizing she is a Diamond! She continues the story in the sequel, His Grace, His Blood, His Mercy!
In the main event of the evening, the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Champion of the world. Wladimir Klitschko (63-3 with 54 KOs) entered the ring to one of the loudest roars from a crowd you may ever hear to face the undefeated Bryant Jennings (19-0 with 10 KOs). Over 17 thousand filled the World’s Most Famous Arena at Madison Square Garden to watch Klitschko fight his 1st fight in the US in over seven year.
The biggest fight on the Wladimir Klitschko vs Bryant Jennings card was a battle between two welterweights as Brooklyn’s own Sadam Ali (21-0 with 13 KOs) squared off against Francisco Santana (22-3-1 with 11 KOs) of Santa Barbara, California. It was a non-title bout of two skilled fighters that had average pop, and it was scheduled to go 10 rounds. Anthony Dirrell and Badou Jack headlined tonight’s “PBC” on Spike live from the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois. Dirrell was defending his WBC super-middleweight title in his 2015 debut against Jack, who was entering the ring two wins removed from his first loss.Tonight’s “PBC” series broadcast came to us live from the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois, and it was aired on Spike TV, their second showing of Al Haymon’s brain child. The co-feature offered up Danny Jacobs defending his paper championship against Caleb Truax, a fighter whose only claim to fame is a scored knockdown against Jermain Taylor in a losing effort and a win against Don George.
