DEBBIE KALB TALKS GEORGE WASHINGTON, POLITICS & MORE...

    in Entertainment

Deborah Kalb, has worked as a journalist in Washington for 2 decades, covering politics for Gannett News Service, Congressional Quarterly, The Hill, U.S. News & World Report, & the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.  She's the co-author (with her father, Marvin Kalb who was former host of MEET THE PRESS) of Haunting Legacy: Vietnam and the American Presidency from Ford to Obama.  Debbie joins Richard for political analysis & talks about her new book THE PRESIDENT AND ME: GEORGE WASHINGTON AND THE MAGIC HAT.

TRAVEL BACK IN TIME & MEET GEORGE WASHINGTON AS A BOY Adventure, history, & the drama of school life intertwine in this engrossing tale of a 5th-grade boy struggling to find his place after his best friend abandons him. Find out what happens when Sam's class takes a trip to Mt. Vernon, where he accidentally buys a bossy three-cornered hat that sweeps him off to the eighteenth century and a warm friendship with George and Martha Washington. Deborah also has a blog, deborahkalbbooks.blogspot.com, where she interviews authors about their books.

Little does Sam know where a field trip to Mount Vernon will lead. A surprising story about friendship—and growing up—that will touch your heart, make you laugh, and keep you turning the pages.  An amazing (and fun-filled) introduction to George Washington, his life and times—to boot. For fans of time travel, history buffs, and all those who love good story-telling. --Kem Knapp Sawyer, author of DK Biography: Abigail Adams

Next on the Tee with Chris Mascaro: Gerry James & Debbie O'Connell

    in Golf

On this episode of Next on the Tee with Chris Mascaro, my guests were: 2 time World Long Driving Champion and participant on the Golf Channels Big Break 8 Gerry James and LPGA Top 50 Instructor and founder of Golf Positive Debbie O'Connell. I talked with them about:

Gerry James - I talked with Gerry about the mechanics of the golf swing so we can generate more power for longer drives. We also talked about his bodybuilding career and Mr. California title back in 1990. He shared his experience competing on The Golf Channel's Big Break 8 plus he shared fitness tips to help us keep our bodies from breaking down.

Debbie O'Connell -  Debbie is not only a great swing instructor, she's also a great mental coach. She shared advice she'd give Jordan Spieth following his collapse at the Masters. When our minds get cluttered with negative thoughts what can we do to slow down and recover? What would she tell Jordan to do the next time he finds himself in a similar situation so those negative thoughts don't creep back in? She shared her mental coaches tips plus a couple of tips on how to improve our short games.

Join Chris Mascaro every Saturday at 10:00 AM Eastern Time as he talks with PGA & LPGA Tour legends, today's players, equipment manufacturers, top instructors, media members and all those impacting the great game of golf on Next on the Tee.
