Native American Culture in Gaming - A Conversation with Monte Cook Games

    in Entertainment

In the world of fantasy role playing games or any other type of gaming, how can game creators best convey Native culture without lapsing into stereotype? How can they best do it with respect and accuracy?  We talked with Shanna Germain Monte Cook Games - creators of Dungeons and Dragons style RPG "The Strange." Creators have agreed to make positive changes when they were criticized as portraying Indigenous people in a stereotypical way.

We commend Monte Cook Games for their desire to work with the Native community in order to show the world Native people are most than just a stereotype.

Deepertruth: The Four Last Things, Death, Judgement, Hell, Heaven

    in Religion

The four last things that relates to Catholic teaching areDeath, Judgement, Hell, and Heaven.

Because of the sin of Adam and Eve, the human race became a fallen race. Death entered into existence.

Romans 5:12-14 reminds us, “Therefore as sin came into the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all men sinned–sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sins were not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.”

To my knowledge, only three people arguably might have bypassed death, Genesis 5:21 states, “Enoch walked with God after the birth of Methuselah three hundred years, and had other sons and daughters. Thus all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” It is like God simply took Enoch and so his death was not recorded.

2 Kings 2:11 states of Elijah, “And as they still went on and talked, behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.” In this case, Elijah’s death is not recorded either.

Hebrews chapter eleven is known as the Bible’s “Faith” chapter, Hebrews 11:5 relates to Enoch saying, “By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was attested as having pleased God.”

Daily Gogetemism #176 Hiding The Real Cause Of Death

    in Lifestyle

Nobody likes to dishonor the ones who have passed but why do we try to sweep the causes of death under the rug for some people who have died?

If someone dies of AIDS, drug overdoses, murder while commiting a crime or other ways, we may try to make it seem like there was a different cause of death. Is this a good thing to do? Can the ones that need to learn the lessons that come from tragedies in death learn what they need to learn if we hide the truth?

ME – Well I’m just your average everyday woman, filled with Life, Love and Laughter.  I’m excited about life’s benefits, though not always excited about my choices.  I rise each morning looking forward to a great cup of coffee and a good book.  Sometimes the Bible, preferably, but always a good read.  My morning would not be morning without God and my Cup of Coffee.

GOD – My source of joy, my reason for living, my beginning and my end.  The beauty that I see when I look into a flower.  The birds I hear chirping as I lay in bed meditating on my day. The peace that surpasses all understanding.  My friend and comforter in Him I live, move and have my being.  G0d – My everything.

Coffee – Part of every good conversation and Privy to every private thought.  The start of every friendship begins with Coffee. In the acknowledgment of life or even the report of death there’s usually coffee.  The universal language for “The Talk”.

    Creepypasta

    in Paranormal

Creepypastas are short horror stories, fanfiction or other media that are collected and shared across the Internet with the intent of frightening or unnerving the reader. The name is derived from the internet slang term "copypasta", which refers to text that has been copied and pasted by users onto discussion boards multiple times. Creepypastas are similar to urban legends, although creepypastas do not always take the form of written text or spoken word; some consist of allegedly haunted images, videos, or games.

Creepypastas come in a variety of styles, but some are particularly common. "Haunted image" creepypastas are fictional stories that include a picture that is said to haunt and torment the reader. "Lost episode" creepypastas are fictional stories about discarded or unused episodes of real shows, usually cartoons. Lost episodes are intended to unnerve the reader by deviating from the normative behavior of characters, centering on death, and including "hyper-realistic" images of the characters in the show. "Ritual" creepypastas are fictional procedures to invoke entities or supernatural experiences.

Also on this episode we have some superhero news, as the supposed reason for the Batman/Superman fight coming out next year gets leaked on line, stills from what appear to be the season finale of the Flash hit the interent, and Tyrese Gibson throws the lobby machine into full gear in an effort to land the Green Lantern role, and if you've seen the fan art, it's not a bad idea.
