Hybrid Jazz - with Swing & Blusion from Eric Byrd and Deanna Bogart!

    in Music

This week's set of of shows have been special - and we're wrapping it up with a big red bow on 12/11!  Eric Byrd kicks off the one p.m. Eastern hour with his enthusiasm for a big show on Saturday.  That's at the Eubie Blake Cultural Center in Baltimore - with special guests Delandria Mills (flute) and Jeff Antoniuk (sax).  The Eric Byrd Trio will perform songs from their popular "Charlie Brown Christmas." :)

Eric has been a respected pianist in this region - and beyond - for three decades!  He has been an in-demand leader AND sideman (over 15 musical projects as a guest star) - and has served as State Department Ambassador for multiple countries.  The depth of his work can be heard in the aforementioned 2009 release - and also in "21st Century Swing: Live" that was recorded at a popular Jazz Festival last year.  A foot firmly in the past with an eye on the future of Jazz - this is why so many appreciate him!

The award-winning Deanna Bogart joins us after Eric.  Born in Detroit, but spent early years in Arizona and New York  - and surfaced in the D.C. area - where this radio host met her.  While she was a key member of the band, Cowboy Jazz :-D  At six, Deanna was kicked out of music school because she chose to play piano by ear as opposed to chart.  She has been rebelling ever since!  Refusing to believe that "girls don't play saxophone", she gravitated and mastered the instrument - and became a hellacious songwriter along the way.  Over 20 Wammies to her name and the respect of international audiences - which includes eager children (many of them special needs) - who she LOVES to teach.  A featured figure in The Rhythm and Blues Revue (Magic Dick, Tommy Castro), Deanna SHINES most as Band LEADER.  What a show!  Please join us in The Chat Room on 12/11!

    Jam Session: The Return

    in MMA

Sorry Folks, there was no Jam Session last week. But this week The Jam session returns and we have ourelves a great show for you guys. Doctor Howard Fidler has decided to join us once again and open our eyes with his 1000 years of knowledge and his several degrees in body science as well as many others. You know those diagrams where the mins and body are open and you see that aura line around the person? Fidler created that.

Out of the Door, we are blessed to be graced with the Presence of The Argentinian assassin. The undefeated powerhouse. The

Invicta star! Deanna Bennett to talk about her victory against Jennifer Maia at Invicta 10 as well as a bunch of other fun topics.

Up next, we have the Golden Girl, the future star of womens mma, The youthful, yet talented Caitlin "Meat-hook"" Kelley! This one is going to be fun for myself as well as Doctor Fidler, because future stars always have a lot to talk about.

The third guest may or may not show up to the show. But if she does, all I can say is she is a legend already. A dynamic individual. She recieved a call and answered it in dramatic fashion at a more local organization to myself, WCC. Great organization, by the way. And Gave the company their first Omoplata Victory!

There will be many more things discussed on this edition of Jam Session. TUF talk, Invicta words, UFC chat.

This 45 minutes is a minimal investment wit a great deal of return. We gonna hit you so hard, you can put us on a wheaties box!
