Coming together in search God's Word for his wisdom will ground us.
The early Church dynamic:
They gathered together in homes, often in secret, reminding one another of God's promises, and relating Jesus' commands—to love God and others— to real life situations. They encouraged one another, challenged one another, and worked out what it feels like to be a Christian. Sherwin Simple is offering the same concept. In fact, he is doing exactly as it is in the Bible. God created us to live in a community—and especially to read & learn Scripture in a community. It's only together that we can accurately interpret and apply the Word. So if you don't currently participate in a small-group Bible study. Now is the perfect time to join in and listen to Simple Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.
Call of the Wild, Short Track Racing's yet-to-be award winning internet radio show, kicks off another season of circle track coverage, reviews, and upcoming events. Join Jason Seltzer and Ben Raber as we break down the 2014 season at local tracks around the Indiana/Michigan area.
What is happening in retirement communities, assisted living facilities and nursing homes? You might imagine quiet reading, crossword puzzles, bingo, maybe some shuffleboard. Think again. Think about sex – unsafe sex.
Much as society might prefer to see older adults as asexual, the rates of STDs among older adults are climbing. Despite rising infections, gay and lesbian older adults remain an invisible population. Yet sex goes on anyway.
HIV/AIDS is not just an LGBT issue but a community issue as well.Terri Clark (Action Aids) & Robert Espinoza (SAGE) address these health disparities among marginalized populations, as well as offer important steps to advance health equity for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Build stronger inner confidence by mastering your mental and physical self. When you wakeup, take time to address your needs: shower, eat, exercise and any other activity that gets you Revved-up. Then examine what must be done by you this day so that you meet high expectations for yourself. Addressing your needs first, opens your body up and allows you to engage in the tasks that you are obligated to get done. Create an excitement for the activities of the day- addressing your needs sets the scene for your enthusiasm. Reflect upon what you are grateful for at this moment. Whatever it is that is a “blessing” to you for being there, take time to be grateful. If you can not readily identify things for which to be grateful, then practice being grateful: It’s a great day, the sun is shining, I have no pain, I slept well, I have someone who loves me.
Once your mind and body are” engaged” with the present,(1) Look at what you should do to advance goals of your life (like things on your “bucket list”). Thinking about the “dreams of your life”, you set in motion vibrations necessary to bring your desires to fruition.(2) Reflect on your present life: your job, your home, your school, then identify if you are waiting for anything from anybody.
(a)Make a list of “who am I waiting for” to be able to advance a project : make a phone call, stop by an office, visit a school and talk to a counselor or advisor or email a colleague or classmate.
(b)Then make a second list of "who you should be contacting": speak to your boss about a raise or a desired job assignment; meet with a teacher to request more time for an assignment or a change in your schedule; call a sick friend and any other task that defines your success and core values.

This week, Roundtable with Stephanie Robinson takes on the Zimmerman trial and leads a "family" discussion to help absorb the blow of Trayvon Martin's killer being set free. For Americans reeling from the young man’s senseless death, the verdict is another mortal wound. Facts are reviewed; legal procedures are analyzed, from the point of view of relationships: Trayvon's to his immediate and extended family, George Zimmerman's to our nation of laws, and both of them to our own psyches. We look at emotional impacts of violence against young people of color in America, and examine the related legal statutes, past, current and future. At the Roundtable: Dr. Valerie Batts an expert on violence, healing and a change-oriented approach to diversity; New York Prosecutor and DA Mina Malik; Casey Anthony's defense attorney Jose Baez; and Harvard Law Professor Ronald Sullivan.
At the center of our conversation: Where do we find solace and a way forward when justice, as delivered by the courts, feels wrong and unfair?
It is time to gather at the Roundtable as Stephanie Robinson delivers hot topics, deep talk and a little bit of uplift. Roundtable with Stephanie Robinson...pull up a chair.
