Two Tickets To Paradise
**RESCHEDULED FROM LAST MONTH
Long Island native D.B. Sweeney attended both Tulane and New York University. Upon his graduation he was immediately cast in the Broadway revival of "The Caine Mutiny Court Martial." He went on to guest-star stints on such TV series as "The Edge of Night" and "Spencer: For Hire" before entering movies, where he scored with the critics for his portrayal of Jackie Willow, an idealistic, gung-ho Vietnam enlistee in Francis Ford Coppola's "Gardens of Stone".
While he has garnered several noteworthy screen assignments (including the starring role of a nasty hockey player in "The Cutting Edge," with Moira Kelly), D.B. Sweeney is best remembered for his even-keel portrayal of the tragic Shoeless Joe Jackson in "Eight Men Out." He looked like a natural on the ball field, because Sweeney had once actually played minor league baseball with the Kenosha Twins, hanging up his spikes after a knee injury. In addition to his film roles, Sweeney has continued working on television. He played Dish Boggett in the miniseries "Lonesome Dove," going on to appear in "Once and Again," "Life As We Know It," "Jericho," "Crash," "24," and currently in "Universal Dead."
His "Two Tickets To Paradise," which he wrote, produced, directed, and stars in, was released on DVD September 14th. **Free copies of the DVD to a few live listeners who play DB Sweeney trivia!

Satchmo and DB discuss Michigan State's performance in the Final Four of the NCAA men's basketball tournament, Wisconsin's big win against Kentucky and its subsequent loss to Duke in the championship game, the terrible officiating in the last three games of the tournament, the terrible officiating in college basketball in general, and the outlook for Michigan State next year. They also recap Sunday's Mad Men episode.
Reported from Mac Slavo at SHTFplan.com on April 3, 2015.
A new Homeland Security purchase order listed on FedBizOpps raises an eyebrow or two.
Over the course of 9 pages (PDF), the technical requirements call for an arsenal of specialized weaponry for training and deployment against crowds.
On top of a wide range of gas and chemical grenades, rubber bullets and other riot rounds, the purchase calls for “controlled noise and light distraction devices,” including flash bangs which set off a 175 dB sound with 6 – 8 million candelas light bursts in 10 milliseconds.
So why are the Feds prepping to take on crowds?
The collection of equipment provides a diverse range of toys with which authorities could push back crowds and potentially intimidate free speech as well.
Are there more riots coming? Is widespread civil unrest only a matter of time? Is it related to martial law exercises like Jade Helm 15?
What do the Feds know that we don’t?

Friday April 3 2015 "GOOD FRIDAY" Anthony Ray Hinton "A FREE MAN"
Today truly is a Good Friday for Anthony Ray Hinton.
After nearly 30 years on Alabama's death row, Hinton this morning walked out of prison a free man and into the arms of his sisters and friends.
He was freed when prosecutors dismissed the charges for his re-trial in the 1985 deaths of two fast-food manager after new testing on Hinton's gun couldn't prove the crime scene bullets were fired from the weapons.
"The sun does shine," Hinton said as he was released.
"I want you to know there is a God. He sits high but he looks low. He will destroy but yet he will defend and he defended me," Hinton said.
