About the book
Half Popped is the heart-warming and whimsical story of Kenny the Kernel, a discouraged but friendly popcorn kernel who believes he never reached his full potential. As Kenny journeys through the kitchen, he helps cheer up other down-on-their-luck snacks by pointing out the bright side to their situations, all the while harboring a half-empty view of himself. Until.... With a silly, story-telling rhyme evocative of Shel Silverstein poetry and unique artwork that combines photography and illustration, the charming tale serves as a lesson in self-confidence and reminds young readers that a genuine compliment has the power to make a friend's day. Sometimes it takes an outside perspective to see it, but there's a place and a purpose in this world for everyone - even Kenny the Kernel, who was only half popped, and turned out that way when the microwave stopped.

About the author/illustrators
Jeff Feuerstein has been writing since he was strong enough to hold a pencil. However, none of it was legible until much later. A New York sports fanatic with an affinity for Chinese take out and vintage t-shirts, he fills the time between by walking, thinking and dreaming up new characters. Jeff has worked in the film business since graduating from the Syracuse University S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. You can follow Jeff on twitter: @mosjeph.
Dayna Brandoff just loves a good art project. As a mother, she was eager to create a children's book that parents would actually want to read "again!" (and again. and again.)
Toronto's Dayna Shereck releases her debut EP called Suitcase Full Of Dreams on June 23rd. The project was produced by Larry Beaird of Beaird Music Studios in Nashville. She is also releasing a music video for the song "Goodbye Doesn't Say It All".
“Life is messy, and I’m not afraid to write about it,” says Dayna. “There is no such thing as playing it safe in music. I want to say what people are really feeling, and that comes down to being willing to be vulnerable.”
Dayna describes herself as “a late bloomer” in music and more of a writer than a vocalist.
In the four short years Dayna has been writing, she has made numerous trips to Nashville and developed a strong relationship with Dan Hodges Publishing which has led to writing opportunities with more established writers. She has been placed on NSAI’s “Ones to Watch” list, and has been a finalist and semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition for 2012, 2013 and 2014. She has had her songs recorded by several independent artists, including co-writing two songs placed on Marcum Stewart’s album “Put It in Drive”, an album that has secured TV and film placements in the US, and that has received airplay on the UK-BBC. “Whadaya Say”, a song co-written with Marcum Stewart and Shantell Ogden, was recently placed in the new film “On the Wing” with Corbin Bernsen and Shirley Jones.
“Country music has always been about honesty and true emotion” says Don Graham of Cashbox Canada. “Dayna Shereck delivers both in spades. Great songs, great voice. With talent like this, she will be around for a long time”.
Dayna Martin talks about Radical Unschooling and Michael Murphy: Look Up, Stop Geoengineering
In the first part of our show this Saturday, we get the special treat of an in-depth discussion with internationally known natural childbirth and radical unschooling advocate Dayna Martin (www.daynamartin.com), who says that there is a better way to raise our children instead of subjecting them to the government indoctrination centers known as public schools. Even most private schools impose a curriculum on children that may not ideally facilitate their innate desire to learn in their own unique way and according to their own natural timetables. We have been programmed over generations that children will not learn and develop themselves fully unless we micromanage the process. Dayna has demonstrated this theory is incorrect, and the opposite is often true.
Shifting gears for the second part of the show, we are pleased to have an opportunity to talk with Michael Murphy (www.whyintheworldaretheyspraying.com), creator of the documentaries on geoengineering, "What In The World Are They Spraying," and its sequel "Why In The World Are They Spraying," that have been seen by millions around the world. Most of the world’s population is yet unaware of the full importance of the ongoing spraying and damage being caused by the global geoengineering programs now in progress, but more people are waking up to this worldwide assault on humanity with every passing day.
In fact, not only humanity but the entire biosphere is in danger of annihilation as the geoengineering project that has been publicly denied for so many years continues to poison our air, water and soil, threatening to make the continuation of life for all species on Earth impossible if not reversed very soon.
