  • Solomon’s Dedication (2 Chronicles 6:1-11)

    in Christianity

    TEXTS

Then Solomon said, “The Lord has said that He would dwell in the thick cloud. “I have built You a lofty house, And a place for Your dwelling forever.” Then the king faced about and blessed all the assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing.

He said, “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David and has fulfilled it with His hands, saying, ‘Since the day that I brought My people from the land of Egypt, I did not choose a city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house that My name might be there, nor did I choose any man for a leader over My people Israel; but I have chosen Jerusalem that My name might be there, and I have chosen David to be over My people Israel.’

Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. But the Lord said to my father David, ‘Because it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well that it was in your heart. Nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who will be born to you, he shall build the house for My name.’

Now the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke; for I have risen in the place of my father David and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built the house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. There I have set the ark in which is the covenant of the Lord, which He made with the sons of Israel.”

Amos Chapter 5 King  James Version

In this Chapter we find some of the most profound Judgment upon Israel, for their rebellion, it is as if God has turned his back on them. Their sins have come up before him, he loves Israel, but hate hers sins, and now he will bring them to their knees. We see he will no longer honor any of the prayers, sacarafices, all he is demanding is Repentence.

Jeremiah 20; 11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the LORD.thoughts of peace and not evil,to give you a future and hope.

Join David Homick, author of a metaphysical novel

    in Spirituality

After years of working in the banking industry in Central New York, David Homick left his suits behind for a more casual gig as a freelance Web Designer. "I love the creative aspect of my work, which was not something that was encouraged growing up.” Perhaps it is all that pent up creative energy that has motivated him to express himself now between the covers of a book.

It took 54 years for Homick to pick up the pen, or in this case the laptop, and start writing his first novel. That's a lot of life experience to draw on. Much of his inspiration comes from his recent interest in spiritual, metaphysical, and so-called paranormal activity.

His first novel, A Lifetime Last Night, is full of metaphysical wisdom and inspiration that is woven into an intriguing, contemporary love story. One of the underlying themes of the story, as well as his life, was inspired by a favorite quote from George Eliot. "It's never too late to be what we might have been."

A second novel, as yet untitled, is currently in the works. "It's who I am now. I'll never stop writing." Homick dreams of quitting his day job to pursue his writing career full-time.
