The megalithic site of Gunung Padang begins to reveal its secrets
Gunung Padang is a remarkable archaeological region located 120 kilometres south of Jakarta in Indonesia, known for having the largest number of megaliths in the country. It has been the subject of much controversy in recent years as scientific research has suggested that one particular site, consisting of an ancient arrangement of megalithic stones, sits atop a hill that is actually a gigantic, pyramid-shaped tomb, dating back thousands of years. Such conclusions have, unsurprisingly, been met with fierce resistance from the academic and archaeological community. However, according to a report in Jakarta Post, excavation has now revealed an underground room built in prehistoric times, and the team have dated the youngest layer of the site to 5,200 BC.
According to several experts from the Gunung Padang independent and integrated research team (TTRM), the site could potentially be Indonesia’s oldest and most important prehistoric landmark and should be given priority in conservation efforts.

Born in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada in 1954. In1982 found Laird in as a technician in the special effects department on David Cronenburgs , " Dead Zone". It was an eye opener. Mentored by Derek Van Lint (cinematographer of Alien), thru the late 80's working on all manner of commercials in a prop/effects roll propelled Laird and the company to become one of the biggest providers of FX in Canada. More long Format work evolved thru the nineties and producers took note of the sincerity and quality of work produced at LairdFX. Not only providing prop making services, but model work, mould making, breakaway glass, as well as all manner of environmental effects. In 2002 Laird was hired on by Danny DeVito as effects coordinator on Death to Smoochy and hasn't looked back.Coordinating films like Cold Creek Manor, Dawn of the Dead, Assault On Precinct 13, Cinderella Man and 16 Blocks (2006) just to name a few. 2007 marked a voyage into the Marvel Universe, coordinating The Incredible Hulk at the time the biggest film ever shot in Canada. Continuing on to Scott Pilgrim vs The World Kick-Ass, R.E.D.,Total Recall and most recently in theatres, Guillmo del Toros' Pacific Rim nominated for a Saturn award. This is a non-recruiting episode. Danny worked for CNBC and recently went through a job transition to Fortune. He has also written books about rock music and earlier in his career he was a professional musician. How did he end up here? A previous guest recommended him without saying what he did for a living. So, who knows what we're going to talk about but, look, if you hate the episodes that aren't about recruiting just don't listen, okay?
