CM Radio - Mar 18, 2015 - Danko Jones, Faith Healer, The Globe Series

    in Music

Eighteen years. Twelve albums. Two gold records. Thirty-plus transatlantic treks. Fifteen Top 40 singles. Arena tours across 11 countries with Guns N Roses. A video trilogy starring Elijah Wood and Ralph Macchio. A feature- length documentary. An oral-history biography. Personal invites from Lemmy to join Motörhead on the road (and on water, for the 2014 Motörboat cruise). For most bands, that would amount to a hell of a career. For Toronto trio Danko Jones, it’s called “warming up." The band is fresh from the release of Fire Music, produced by Eric Ratz (Billy Talent, Monster Truck, Metric) and featuring 11 fresh tracks, and is now amidst a slew of global dates.

As for Faith Healer, led by principal songwriter Jessica Jalbert, following the success of 2011’s self-released solo debut, Brother Loyola, the introspective songwriter set to work on penning another collection of inward looking dream pop played with laid back bravado. Engineered under the masterful watch of whip-smart producer—and fellow Mintie—Renny Wilson, the two bonded over their mutual affection for dreamy ‘60s garage rock and swaggering ‘70s singles while in the studio. Hinting at a slightly spacier sound, Cosmic Troubles will arrive March 31st.

Finally, CM contributor Michael Saracino speaks about his new initiative, The Globe Series, which finds the musician and producer travelling to different cities around the world - from Vancouver to Sydney, New York to London - filming local songwriters and aiding in their long-distance collaborations.

Yogi Roth: A Modern Day Indiana Jones

    in Lifestyle

Yogi Roth has been described as a modern day Indiana Jones.  He is a media personality, college football analyst, best-selling author, motivational speaker, actor and an Emmy nominated filmmaker.  At heart, though, he’s a guy from a small town in Pennsylvania who loves to share a good story.

Win Forever, the New York Times best-seller that he co-authored with Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, is one of those good stories.  His most recent story, though, is Life in a Walk, a documentary about a walk Yogi took with his dad.  It’s not just any walk but one through Portugal and Spain along the Camino De Santiago.  Yogi says that the film is about making a decision to act on his strong feeling to spend more time with his father.

Today he’ll discuss the making of that film and his ongoing exploration of human potential.  He is the co-founder of Win Forever, a brand inspired by Pete Carroll, that furthers human potential, elevates mentorship and inspires leaders through a philosophy of competition.  When he’s not doing all of the above, Yogi travels the nation delivering motivational presentations about living a Life Without Limits.

    January Jones AATH Ann Zuccardy

    in Health

Meet: AATH Ann Zuccardy & Maia Aziz

A freak accident in a German bathtub changed the way Ann Zuccardy perceived the world. With no protocol for rehab from the resulting brain injury, Ann resolved to make her own way. In the process, she created a mild traumatic brain injury support group and became an advocate for others. In her 2013 TEDx talk, How a Brain Injury Made Me Smarter, Ann redefined what being smart meant to her.

When her brain no longer allowed her to live her life and earn a living the old way, she discovered the innate qualities that keep creativity alive in all of us. Ann has used these creative insights (what she calls “the new smart”) to reinvent her career and personal life.  In her 2014 TEDx talk, Ann revealed what she learned about neuroplasticity through her post-TBI trials and errors.  Now, as a consultant and speaker, she helps businesses and individuals get smarter… without whacking any heads!

Who Did It To You? Round Table Discussion with Dr James Jones

    in Current Events

Each of us has a gift from the Creator that we must offer to the struggle of our people for freedom. The Principle that states “He who would be your leader must be your servant.” Those of us who, for one reason or another, are accepted as leaders must increase our ability to serve. For it is only in serving that which is bigger than we are that we live and never die. That which is bigger than all of us is the Freedom, of our people in America, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Africa and the Isles of the Pacific.

Wherever Black people are on this planet we suffer, our goal should be to see our wounds healed, the damage repaired and all Black people free to bring again to the world what we originally brought, which was the light of knowledge and advanced civilization.

January Jones- Abused & Lived to Tell It

    in Women

Hanna Lulgjuraj - Murray was shot in the chest in cold blood and was left for dead and Lived to Tell It. Hanna's story is very compelling and riveting.  It's a true crime account about survival and courage.  Hanna was living a beautiful life, a life of dreams that suddenly all changed.  Her dreamlike life turned to horror as her raging husband stood across from her and fired his gun.

By a miracle, she survived to tell her story and how she overcame abuse. It would be very beneficial for your audience to listen to Hanna's experience and know what questions to ask to identify abuse.  Reading her story, Lived to Tell It one will gain courage and the power to overcome similar situations and give hope to every woman trapped in an abusive relationship.

The Homosexual Activist Movement, A Cultural Blitzkrieg, The Discussion Resumes

    in Politics Conservative

The extent, breadth and most of all SPEED of the advance of the homosexual activist movement can be compared to the Nazi Advance thru Western Europe in the spring of 1940,  particularly in the fact that its putative opponents are similarly unprepared to resist it.  The Nazi Blitzkrieg relied upon striking deep into the vitals of its enemies rear echlons,  moving rapidly with little regard to flank protection and reinforcing any breakthrough to achieve chaos and disruption in the enemy's rear areas and destroy unit cohension through panic and uncertainty..  These were tactics that had not been seen before and blitzkreig's victims had no answer for it.

Today we are witnessing the cultural equivalent of Blitzkieg with the homosexual activist's recent successes in weakening the RFRA in Indiana, and an irresolute defense by Ind governor Mike Pence and others.  Is the analogy too far reaching, wrong as a shorthand description of what is transpiring today, or does it have merit, along with other factors that describe the successes of this baleful movement?
