I'm your host
Daniel N. Collins,
He was born on September 4th 1975 in Newark NJ, but he was raised in Elizabeth NJ. Elizabeth is where he first put the pen to the paper in the 11th grade. Daniel has moved on since then and published his first poem in 2002 in a book called "Flood of Contentment", and with this he received the editors choice award for his poem called "moving on".
Today Daniel N Collins has published two books of his own called "The soul Vs Flesh" / Life 2 Lyrics, which even has a sequel called "The Soul Vs Flesh" / Lyrics 4 Life. The Soul Vs Flesh is a series and a collection of events that has happened in Daniels life put together in a lyrical display. What Daniel did was give his flesh its own voice and his soul it's own voice and let them talk amongst each other round after round as he sits in the middle and tries not to add a bias opinion. The Soul Vs Flesh is basically Daniels own spiritual warfare put into lyrical form. What's intriguing about Daniels first book is that it was written on a blackberry tour in a span of eight months. Daniel fervently writes about life as he sees it so he needs an electrical device within an arms reach at all times. Daniel is an exemplary writer but is also inspired by other writers as well such as Langston Hughes, Tupac Shakoor, D H Lawrence, Dr Cornel West, and Lil Wayne. Daniel is a true renaissance man, he enjoys Jazz, Hip Hop,and R&B.
Daniel enjoys reading or siting in silence listing to his heart as he plagiarizes what his mind tells him to write. Over all Daniel is an outside of the box kind of guy and the best quote to describe him is one by Brian Tracey and says "Nothing great has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to circumstances".
...Open your doors and invite someone that you may know will be alone to join you at your table...Holidays can be trying times for Individuals with an Addiction. As MY Sponsor once told me - "DANNY - IF IT AFFECTS YOUR SOBRIETY IN AN ADVERSE MANNER - THEN DON'T DO IT!" Good advice throughout the year, regardless whether it is a Holiday or just ANY OLE DAY! Because I work a program that has kept me sober - I am Thankful for the many invitations that I receive these days for me to join others/family /friends /Clients at their tables alongside their Parents / Children / Cousins / Friends. Not something that would have happened to me BEFORE I sobered up. In fact our AA Club will be hosting an ALL NIGHT Vigil in order to KEEP THE DOORS OPEN FOR ANYONE WHO NEEDS THE COMPANY OR COMPANIONSHIP - Ultimately keeping ALL OF US SOBER! We will play cards, eat food, hold Discussion / Meetings - all with the intentions of keeping oneself for gettings lost in our minds. A place that when I was initially Sober - was considered to be a VERY BAD & UNSAFE PLACE TO GO. Having completed the 12 Steps repeatedly over these past 20 years, I no longer have to avoid ALONE TIME, as I have long since Forgiven Myself and have made amends with many individuals that I hurt when I was actively caught up in my Addiction.
Join me/Us EVERY SUNDAY EVENING FROM 7 to 9 PM as we Broadcast LIVE - our persoanl day to day lives, and experiences as well as what it took for us to get and to stay CLEAN & SOBER. Or call-in number which will allow you to share comments, thoughts, criticisms, & even your own personal EXPERIENCE /STRENGTH / & HOPES, (YOUR STORY) with our audience. You might be amazed at how listening or even participating with our program can bring comfort to you or anyone that may need support or knowledge of recovering from an addiction. Our Call-In number is 323-580-5755 - JOIN US - AND HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
On a special night, Daniel Shoptaw, founder of the United Cardinal Bloggers and writer of C70 At The Bat, brings you the winners of the ninth annual Cardinal Blogger Awards. From the best Cardinal player to the best Cardinal podcaster, we'll cover it all and let you know who came out on top!
In Episode 160, Jeffrey and Lukhas discuss all the goings-on in Metsland, which include...well...uh...the Mets are interested in Ben Zobrist? Jordan Zimmermann signed with a team in the AL Central? People on twitter want to trade Lucas Duda? Yeah, it is the miserable dregs of the offseason where we have nothing to talk about and still somehow fill 60 minutes. We also answer your e-mails about Daniel Murphy, JA Happ, Matt Harvey, Daniel Murphy, baseball history and Daniel Murphy. Well, at least some things never change.
Marc and Shane take a look at Victor Frankenstein, and let you know if James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe can make something of the retelling/reimagining of one of the most popular "monster" stories ever.
Despite the theoretic drawing power of the stars, this one hasn't been doing well with critics, and probably won't draw a huge audience considering the competition, but we'll let you know if you should give it a chance.
CJ and Carlos welcome special guest, Daniel Fuerstein from Fuerstein's Fire as they preview a must win game for the New York Jets if they hope to keep their slim playoff hopes afloat as they host the struggling Miami Dolphins in MetLife stadium. Or, do the Dolphins exact revenge on Gang green after the defeat they suffered in London earlier in the season?
