Portland TrailBlazer fans are upset. Four of the teams' starters from a year ago are gone. Damian Lillard is the only starter left. Does he have what it takes to live up to a new and higher-demanding leadership role on the team this coming season?
His journey to the NBA suggests that he is. Damian has been an underdog his entire career and has constantly proved his critics wrong. Making it out of East Oakland is a feat not to be overlooked either...
Joining me on this 4th episode of "Ben on Hoops" is Oakland native and Sports editor of the Beacon Newspaper, Ms. Malika Andrews. She gives her thoughts on Damian Lillard and the present state of the Portland TrailBlazers.
Guards Jeff Teague and Tyreke Evans have been added to the list of difference makers available on the NBA’s trade market with the deadline less than three weeks away.
The trade market is loaded with forwards such as Rudy Gay, Ryan Anderson, Markieff Morris, Terrence Jones and Corey Brewer.
Trades talks will heat up closer to All-Star Weekend in two weeks when all the general managers are on hand.
Three players who won’t be making the trip are Damian Lillard, Pau Gasol and Hassan Whiteside, which is hard to fathom based on their statistics.
With that in mind, Mike Scotto of SheridanHoops.com joined Sportsnet 590 The Fan radio to discuss the latest on trade rumblings, All-Star snubs and what the Clippers will do with Blake Griffin.
Damian Lillard put up his best line of the season in a blowout loss to the Warriors. Josh looks at that game, plus all of Saturday's action, including Anthony Davis' injury, and talks about the fantasy basketball ramifications of everything that went down.

Our Lord himself gave the instruction to be anxious for nothing to His disciples and, by extension, to the church. His awareness of human frailties expressed in our fears was manifested by His friends: "Fear not." Still.we are creatures who, in sptie of our faith, are given to anxiety and at times even to melancholy.
