The NBA Pre-Season is now underway and all the teams in the league are now out running and getting their 2015-2016 legs underneath them. From Golden State coming off their Championship Run to Cleveland trying to dominate the Eastern Conference once again. We will talk and cook as much BASKETBALL as possible from who we think is strong out of the gate and who looks like they can end up not having the right tools to make a strong push through this NBA Season. Join Royce King aka R-Keezey, James Fitzgerald IV aka Slim Jim, Chandler Knight aka Nostradamus and TP Tymeless bka Tyrone Powell get ready to put down the best basketball talk on the World Wide Web. We still have that Good Ol' Food For Thought hopefully you all can do these dishes. Tell a friend to tell a friend that its the Sport City Chefs AGAIN!!! If they don't know...... NOW THEY KNOW!!!
So.... It starts. The rebuilding process has been started, finally from the right place. I have shared before, a chef can have all the ingredients for a perfect gourmet meal but, if he can’t cook, it’s a waste! That about summed up the Miami Dolphins through last Sunday's debacle in London. The best DT in football, top tier DE's and pro-bowl DB's and a center that has been to Hawaii a few times as well.... borderline greatness ready to bloom at QB and receivers.... but no "chef" to mix the ingredients correctly to serve that perfect meal.
So... OUT WITH THE OLD & IN WITH THE NEW... Let’s see if this new chef (coach) has a better palate for flavor and can "mix it up" better than the last. Although the resume' has 6 years of coaching and 11 years as a player, there is little to no experience running a team. Not only will he need to earn respect from the players, he has an entire coaching staff full of pride, wisdom, experience and age to either help Mr. Campbell or bring him down. Does he make changes to surround himself with folks that to enable his will be done? Does he teach the teachers? Is he merely a motivator until another replaces him - as soon as that becomes available?
Let’s talk about these things and more on Thursday’s show! You're invited to call and listen in, or speak your mind (516) 453-9433 at 6:30 EST... Last week former center for the Miami Dolphins John Bock gave us a call and shared his wonderful insight on things as only an insider can... Who knows who will call in this week.. Seeya then!!
Unique Events by T. Nichols is the vision of Thelma Nichols. Her son, David Badon, Jr., is her partner and a vital part of this business. David says that cooking has always been a staple in his life ever since he was a little boy. He would cook and create dishes and use his younger siblings as his taste testers. His love for food is an honest one that dates back to his great grandmothers, who were not only great cooks but great businesswomen. He states, “The business of food has touched every generation in my family from cafés to sweet shops and now catering. I am proud to take on the reigns with my mother and make your event one that is conversational and evokes emotion.”
On today's episode of Talking in Circles, we talk about the running of the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway. That was the end of the Challenger Round of the Chase, and four drivers have been eliminated. One of the drivers eliminated was Jimmie Johnson. We'll break down why the 48 team was eliminated, and talk about what the 12 that advanced need to do to not get eliminated in the next 3 races.
During the victory celebration for Kevin Harvick, his #4 Chevrolet got into the wall. This raised many eyebrows among his competitors because they're wondering why that car got into the wall and got damage? Were Kevin Harvick and the 4 team trying to cover up something illegal on the rearend of the car? Or was it just a coincidence. We'll talk about that.
Also, the number 78 Furniture Row Racing team was handed a P2 Penalty for something that took place during inspection, prior to Dover. We'll talk about how inconsistent that ruling is, and whether or not we think it was the right call by NASCAR.
With the first round being over, we'll give our predictions of which 8 of the remaining 12 drivers will move on from the Contender Round, and into the Eliminator Round (round 3) of the Chase. The races in this round are Charlotte, Kansas and Talladega. Last season, this round eliminated some note worthy names including Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Will we see this happen again?
One of the hot topics coming out of this weekend was the crash by NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver, Austin Theriault. Theriault, a driver for Brad Keselowski Racing, got tagged by his teammate, Tyler Reddick, and sent into the outside wall, head on. The wall that Theriault hit didn't have a SAFER Barrier, and his wreck resulted in a fracture in his lower back. We'll talk about why there still isn't SAFER barriers around these tracks...
