VoiceOTEarth: An hour with Evolutionary Astrologer, Joan Porte

    in Spirituality

Joining me this week is a fascinating person in the larger astrology world, Evolutionary Astrologist, Joan Porte.  During what is sure to be a lively and far-ranging conversation, Joan intends to talk about karmic astrology, the South Node, and what we carry over from the past life and how it influences us today.  Having enjoyed some marvelous readings of my own personal charts, I can guarantee you will be glued to this program, whether live or podcast. Live listeners have the advantage of being able to call in with their own questions that evening!  From Joan's website, here is a compelling passage:

"Modern Man takes for granted the Sun and how its energy propels and sustains life. Moon energy controls the tides yet we ignore the other more personal influences it has on our bodies and lives. We have lost the art of appreciating and reading the stars as messengers from the god and goddess. Humanity has disconnected from its source and consequently suffers emotionally, spiritually and physically. Each person is born with a map – a soul map – that is his or her astrological chart. It is a map through the maze of life that shows the karma we need to balance and our soul’s desire for a life that leads to enhanced soul growth. I simply read the map – illustrating where you have been and where you are going to make your journey through life less bumpy."

Dabney Buchanan "Chicago Orphan to Freedom Fighter" Wouldn't You Like to Know #2

    in Self Help

Part One was about his childhood, now we're getting into Black Studies in this second episode.

I met Dabney at a Meet & Greet in September 2014 at a coffee house.  Plus we had previously exchanged some comments back and forth in a facebook group we're both a part of.

He brought all types of books to the meet & greet to share with us.  Dabney is passionate about Black Studies!!!  And I could tell he sincerely cared about the people in our group, most of which are a lot younger than he and I.

Well, as time went on, I noticed that Dabney was very opinionated about certain subjects.  In fact some of his comments on some of my posts and the posts in the group, would challenge the belief systems of others.  Look, Dabney is that Dude that will post a comment that makes you say in your head "This Mutha Fucka".  Lol!!!  Real talk.

As I continued to pay attention to the content of his posts, I realized that there was an interesting story/history that cultivated his fervor for his viewpoint.  And you know me.  I decided to find out why.  So I decided to interview Dabney to find out how he became an orphan at 3 years old and grew into the Freedom Fighter/Teacher that he is today.
