Carol the Coach knows what damage Sexual Addiction can do to a relationship. To offset the damage she inteviews founder and Clinical Director of the Center for Relational Recovery in Leesburg Virginia, Michelle Mays LPC, CSAT who has over 13 years experience in providing individual, couples and group therapy to those struggling with sexual addiction, trauma and relationship issues.
Michelle is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist trained under Dr. Patrick Carnes. She is also trained in Post Induction Therapy by Pia Mellody for the treatment of relational trauma. Michelle is sought out as a writer, trainer and speaker on sexual addiction, partners of sex addicts, the developmental model of trauma treatment, and relationship issues. In addition, she mentors and supervises upcoming therapists.
Michelle will be talking about addiction as an attachment disorder (intimacy disorder) and the way in which addicts often attach to the substance or process they are using compulsively as a substitute for meaningful and consistent attachment in their relationships and the way that this is set up in childhood, and how recovery must address attachment and learning how to ‘do relationships’ if it is going to be successful long-term for the person.

A vital stitch in the education of a child is their knowledge base about heritage. Although we pay tribute to African American History in the month of February, it is imperative for students to see the impact role models of color have on their daily life and existence year round. Providing exposure to the unsung African American leaders in our country is the ultimate educational gift to children and my humble attempt to recognize greatness in the African American community.

For much of the past century, scientists studying drug abuse labored in the shadows of powerful myths and misconceptions about the nature of addiction. When scientists began to study addictive behavior in the 1930s, people addicted to drugs were thought to be morally flawed and lacking in willpower.
As a result of scientific research, we know that addiction is a disease that affects both the brain and behavior. We have identified many of the biological and environmental factors and are beginning to search for the genetic variations that contribute to the development and progression of the disease. Scientists use this knowledge to develop effective prevention and treatment approaches that reduce the toll drug abuse takes on individuals, families, and communities.
Dr. Nora Volkov is the director of the National Institute of Drug Abuse will teach us today about this important topic.

Neale Donald Walsch author of "Conversations with God" says, “IT’S NOT A SMALL THING to be wrong about God. And, if nearly everyone on the planet is wrong about God, it’s really not a small thing.”
* * * Neale states on page 90 in his latest book: GOD’S MESSAGE TO THE WORLD … that “God has been telling us from the very beginning, and it is becoming more clear to us every day, that humanity’s Ancient Cultural Story about God’s wrath is plainly and simply inaccurate.
It is okay now to remove this ancient teaching from our current story, and stop telling this to ourselves and to our children.
The fact is that God has no reason to experience or express wrath. When you are everything, have everything, created everything, experience everything, and can express everything that you wish to express, what can there be to be filled with rage about?
When you want nothing, need nothing, require nothing, demand nothing, and command nothing, what can there be for you to feel betrayed about?
