The wooden banked tracks have vanished into history, along with the choreographed flying clotheslines and cartoonish body slams. But an all-female roller derby renaissance is gaining steam — now as sport, not spectacle.
Today more than 15,000 skaters compete in more than 300 flat-track leagues — the bulk of them in the United States, but some as far off as Australia. Leagues typically have three or four teams, plus an all-star squad that represents them in regional and national competitions.
This is roller derby — the high impact and unabashedly bizarre sport experiencing a revival among athletes who feel more comfortable in fishnets than track pants; who’d rather put on a show than play to a set of empty bleachers.

People ask much from the bones, skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments, nerves and blood vessels that make up the foot. After using our feet for transportation for decades baby boomers expect that kind of service to continue indefinitely. The problem is, although the freet are well designed and built for high mileage, time and a variet of condition that become more common as we get older do take their toll.

Dreamer & Doers; Visionaries & Leaders Workshop in OKC on June 14, was a runaway success!! We had 13 leaders in attendance. I called it the Kingdom Board Room. Each person had goals and desires to achieve and go to the next level. Some participants, already head businesses and ministries, others were seeking help on how to get started; or, how to remain stable and confident in the middle of projects they have already began. Everyone was on the edge of their seats as Reverend ...Misti Long shared on vital topics like: The Outpouring of God’s Spirit on All Kinds of People! The Faith Coach! The Plan of Action! Spiritual Vision; The Prophetic Church and Dreams, The Difference Between a Vision and a Visionary, Leadership Style, Character Development and Do It The Supernatural Way!! The Take-Away Included Two Survive and Thrive Skills: Think About What You Are Thinking About and Police Your Own Mouth So God and Your Mama Can Relax!! There were lots of amens, hallelujah’s, tears and laughter, as Reverend Misti taught and coached in her authoritative and energetic manner. A good time was had by all. Vice President Amani Smiley shared an empowering testimony about living her dream, as she recently transitioned into founding her own business. Rev. Patricia Jones, Co-Host of Devoted To HIM with Misti Long on BlogTalk Radio, Gave a very informational speech on health and wellness. Patricia also delighted the audience by giving out sweet potatoes, corns in the husk, squash and apricots. This was the 2nd workshop and the next one is already in the works. God has sent prayer warriors, public relations experts and marketing professionals to help advance the program and get the good news out to more people. The president and vice president of Devoted To HIM both have journalism degrees; so, God is continuing to lay the foundation for a strong and effective future for this ministry of love and prayer.
