In the summer of 2012, four Grove City College students will cycle 4,000 miles from Seattle, WA to New York City. Riding as Team GCC (Grove City College), they will raise money for a diversity and need-based scholarship for their school. More than just their connection at Grove City, the team has a common passion for people. Team GCC plans to highlight people and groups who are “doing good” in their community and world by documenting their stories. The trek will take them from May 25 – August 10. Todd’s own 13-year struggle
with drugs and alcohol nearly
destroyed his life, devastated
relationships with family and
friends and shattered the promise
of a professional hockey career.
He quit using drugs and alcohol on
April 15, 1993, and has been sober
ever since. In the process of rebuilding his life,
Todd realized traditional recovery
programs weren’t enough. He
needed something more. He
chose the most grueling sport
imaginable, the Ironman Triathlon
(a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike
ride, and 26.2 mile full marathon
run). Todd ran his first triathlon in
1999 and has never stopped.
In 2001, his experience with
running triathlon events and
seeing how it inspired others on
their road to sobriety, led him to
form the nonprofit organization
Racing for Recovery®.
Todd has completed 24 fulllength
Ironman Triathlons across
the world. In 2008 he was the only
person in the world to complete
the Ultraman Hawaii Triathlon (a 3
day test of endurance consisting
of 6.2 miles of swimming and 90
miles of biking — day 1, 171.2
miles of biking — day 2 and 52.4
miles of running — day3) and
six days later complete Ironman
Western Australia. In 2009, Todd
completed Ultraman Canada, and
became one of 25 individuals in
the world to have completed both

Blaire Hanks is a young, new up and coming singer/songwriter in Nashville, TN. He grew up in a small town in north east Florida, had a great appreciation for many genres of music and began writing songs by age 15. Blaire developed a small fan base that encouraged him to pursue his love for music; he performed for many local events and fell in love with the idea of making a living doing what he enjoyed so much. Like many artists, Blaire knew if he was going to make a career in Country music, he had to move to Nashville. At only 19, he made that move, determined to find his way in Music City and make a name for himself. Blaire met some writers and made a connection with an singer/songwriter named Johnny T. They collaborated on a few songs and Johnny decided to cut a song they wrote together, 'Buzzin'. Blaire then released his first single as an artist to iTunes in January, 'Show You Off'. His debut EP recently released in May. Blaire has had the opportunity to open for Florida Georgia Line, and most recently opened for Dustin Lynch.
