Criminal background checks on real estate clients and the Fair Housing Laws
With the recent murder of Arkansas Real Estate agent Beverly Carter, broker safety is in the forefront of the news.
Should real estate brokers and thier frims run cirminal background checks on unknown persons who claim an interest in buying real estate?
Does the law permit this?
Can you refuse to show a property if the potential purcahser of the property has a felony or misdemeanor in their background (such as passing bad checks, violent crimes, murder, domestic violence, crimes against women, assault, battery, fraud or forgery)?
There are important questions.
If you are wrongfully discirminating in refusing to show properties to potential buyers of real estate, do you run the risk of getting sued merely because you were trying to protect your own safety?
Listen in as Attorney Steve, the real estate lawyer, discusses this important real estate law topic.
This show is general legal information only.

Christians the worst enablers of criminal ID fraud Obama: Moralmatters author talks to a Catholic nun
Excerpt of script:
This "Moralmatters Speaks" Christian emeritus pastor recently engaged himself in a conversation with a Catholic nun.
I don't recall how the conversation became "diverted," to aka Obama's fake ID documents; but, it did. When I mentioned that our criminal White House occupier's ID documents were "forged," the Catholic nun bristled! It was if she instantly took on another personality. She was admanently recalcitrant in her response:
[Paraphrase] - "Well! They have shown that 'President Obama's' documents are in order!"
To that, I responded: [Paraphrase]:
"Who are 'they?'........................"
The 3 pictures that appear on the screen are from the aforementioned Moalmatters commentary. The 4th - the one of the Sheriff Arpaio Investigation was added for purposes of this audio video.

"the daily complaint"
Every weekday we will be answering client complaints on THE DEBT SHOW to provide direction and resources for both the person complaining as well as other consumers experiencing similar issues whether it be mortgage fraud, loan servicing escrow issues, loan modification runarounds or denials, short sale refusals, deed in lieu negotiations and credit card debt collector abuses and fraud violations.
I routinely look for posts to answer in hopes that it will not only bring optimism to those homeowners and borrowers in distress but also some basic information to assist in fighting the banks that are "too big to fail" like Bank of America and Citi but yet don't appreciate the bailout that we provided in their time of need. The debt collectors like Ocwen and Nationstar are simply just scumbags but they can be beat at their own game too just like the big banks can be defeated.
We are committed to answering consumer complaints and addressing everyday credit and debt issues on THE DEBT SHOW!
We hope you enjoy THE DEBT SHOW...

Our LAW LOVER'S LOUNGE™ series addresses a general overview of some of the most important issues to the general public! Attorney Courtney E. Anderson has owned a general practice law firm since 1998 in Texas, USA.
There is no client relationship created between this show and Attorney Courtney E. Anderson, or The Law Offices of Courtney E. Anderson (Litigation-Mitigation.com). The content in these shows is for general educational purposes and is not the delivery of legal services. This episode addresses the topic of,“How do I Hire a Criminal Defense Attorney?”
The phone rings in the middle of the night. Oh no, any call at this time is bringing bad news. Unfortunately, your friend/ relative/ etc. has been arrested and needs your help. You know what jail they are in but nothing else. How do you hire a criminal defense attorney to help them?
In this episode we address the variety of outcomes of criminal cases in the USA. Many cases are simply dismissed by the government. Some are placed on hold (deferred) pending the successful outcome of a negotiated arrangement (typically with conditions that the defendant take classes to learn not engage in these types of behaviors, pay fines, not get arrested or convicted of any other crimes, pass drug tests, etc.). If all the conditions are met at the end of an agreed period (e.g., 12 months), the case is dismissed. In these instances there is no criminal conviction and the defendant is able to move forward in life comfortable that they are able to obtain housing, jobs, etc., without a criminal record as an obstacle in their lives.
In other instances defendants prefer to accept short jail terms (“lay it out”) and plead no-contest. The desired outcome (and the related legal services) dictate what type of criminal lawyer to hire. Should you hire the cheapest lawyer that you see advertised? Why or why not? Let’s discuss this issue!
