Racial tension and violence in the Black community is at an all time high. People of all races are scared and also tired of not feeling safe in their own neighborhoods. Recent acts of violence, riots, and murders have set us all on edge.
Today I am honored to have as my guest Colin Flaherty.
Colin Flaherty is an award winning reporter and author of the #1 best selling book White Girl Bleed a Lot: The Return of Racial Violence to America and How the Media Ignore it.
His new book is Knockout Game a Lie? Aww, Hell No.
Both books are about black mob violence, black on white crime and the Knockout Game.
His work has appeared in more than 1000 news sites around the world, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Time Magazine. His story about how a black man was unjustly convicted of trying to kill his white girlfriend resulted in his release from state prison and was featured on Court TV, NPR, The Los Angeles Times and San Diego Union-Tribune.
Thomas Sowell: ”Reading Colin Flaherty’s book made painfully clear to me that the magnitude of this problem is greater than I had discovered from my own research. He documents both the race riots and the media and political evasions in dozens of cities.” – National Review.
Sean Hannity: White Girl Bleed a Lot “has gone viral.”
Allen West: “At least author Colin Flaherty is tackling this issue (of racial violence and black on white crime) in his new book, White Girl Bleed a Lot: The Return of Racial Violence to America and How the Media Ignore it.“
Los Angeles Times: “a favorite of conservative voices.”

Every now and then, there comes a talent well beyond their years in the business that is hard to explain just how andwhy they arrived at their destiny. Perhaps (Shae) Keisha Williams was created for the purpose of entertaining others with her gifts of singing and acting even before she knew it.
During her studies of classical and jazz music at McNeese State University, her sharpattention to detail and creative edge became more refined. With an academic classical background in hand and the determination of a rising star, Shae followed her dreams and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2002. She combined her gospel roots, classical training and sultry charm to mesmerize audiences in Music City’s competitive R&B circuit. Shae’s melodic vocals graced legendary venues such as BB King, Rhythm Kitchen, Love Noise and Lucy Blu in addition to major music festivals such as the Spanish festival and the African Street Festival.
This natural talent continues to practice live arts in true renaissance fashion, performing in urban theatre and currently recording her latest R&B album. Shae’s critically acclaimed team includes Grammy nominated producers Alvin Garrett, whose musical catalog includes Joe, Johnny Gill, and Ruben Studdard, producer Roger Ryan whose production and performance credits include Whitney Houston, Wynonna Judd, Faith Evans, Oleta Adams and Kirk Franklin and Michael J Gaines, whose musical credits includes Cher, Kelly Price, Eric Clapton, Anointed, The Pointer Sisters and Shirley Murdock. A down south girl born with the gift of bringing life to the stage–Shae has the charisma to draw you in and the sensual appeal to keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more.
SIBLING VIOLENCE- WHEN IS IT HORSEPLAY AND WHEN IS IT ABUSE?
A friend once told me that her brother made her sit in a lawn chair while he attached it to a car battery to make an electric chair. What?! Sometimes sibling rivalry isn’t harmless. Sometimes it’s violent abuse that can lead to problems in adulthood for victims.
Two people who work with and have experienced sibling abuse join us to talk about what it is, how it is minimized, and the later implications for victims.
Amy Meyers, PhD, is an assistant professor of Social Work at Molloy College and sees victims of sibling abuse in her clinical practice. She sees the terminology we use when talking about brothers and sisters as one way we overlook sibling abuse.
Nancy Kilgore, MS knows how brother and sister relationships can be traumatic and harmful. Author of Girl in the Water: A Personal Story of Bullying and Sibling Abuse, and The Sourcebook for Working with Battered Women, Nancy works with victims of abuse by sibling.
Both women join us to talk about this little-explored area of interpersonal violence.
