Just Breathe... Renew your spirit, soothe your soul.

    in Women

    Renew your spirit...soothe your soul.

Just Breathe is a retreat for your soul…a beautiful invitation to pause on purpose and connect to your mind, body and spirit.  In the space of stillness and guided meditation we honor our self-care needs and set heart centered intentions for the week. This show features a beautiful centering experience offered to gently create awareness and connection to the abundant grace present in our lives. Meditation is the practice of becoming still, detached from the chatter of our mind. A quiet mind releases dormant energy, increases vitality, strength and clarity…inviting us to be light, creative, joyful and at peace.

Life is messy.  It’s how we show up in the mess that matters. The gift of compassionate presence to self allows us to breathe in gratitude and exhale grace, cultivating resiliency and the capacity to be with whatever shows up in the moment. Our weekly practice is a beautiful divine interruption…connecting to our intentions and spirit for guidance, light and love. This is simply grace...

Honor your self care needs,  be still for a moment to pause on purpose.   Mikki Lessard is humbled and honored to co-create a  sacred space with Voices of Grace leader Jodi Redhawk offers a beautiful guided meditation to renew your spirit and soothe your soul. Shaman Jodi Redhawk's passion is her work and gift in service to humanity and all of Mother Earth’s children.   Jodi is dedicated and honored to be of service to her world family, and very much look forward to creating a sacred space of loving, healing, medicine for your soul...

Cherish saying yes to things that matter most...

    REMOVAL PROCEEDINGS (DEPORTATION)

    in Legal

When an immigrant violates U.S. immigration laws, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) may initiate removal proceedings against the violator.

The following individuals can be subject to removal/deportation: Any person who commits a serious crime in the United States, Aliens who overstay their visa, Any person who commits fraud and/or misrepresented themselves to gain an immigration benefit, An alien who works in the United States without authorization to do so, A student who falls out of status; never has or no longer attends school.

The DHS is the umbrella agency for sub-agencies like ICE and USCIS.  DHS, ICE, USCIS and all other sub-agencies are collectively called the “government.”

The Immigration Court (IC) was set up to settle two main issues:  First, it determines an alien’s admissibility.  Second, it determines an alien’s removability/deportability (only the government is allowed to initiate removal proceedings).

  • Blacks & The Cops

    in Politics

    America is a funny land.

Not funny as in "ha ha," but funny as in strange.

So strange that even though cops have historically been at odds with Blacks, people try to pretend that there is something else going on in a so-called justice system that sometimes seems like it persecutes just us.

But anyone who has lived in a poor neighborhood with their eyes and mind open realizes that the "Thin Blue Line," is typically erected between the "haves" and the "have nots," frequently doling out abuse to the "have nots."

And, the "have nots" don’t always get their day in court when there is abuse, which is why periodically, the people speak in the loudest voice possible—riots.

Ferguson spoke in that loud voice and now, Baltimore is speaking as well.

Perhaps no city has the reputation for rioting that Los Angeles has earned.

This April 29, marked the 23rd anniversary of the notorious LA Riots.

And it is business as usual, from Rodney King to Micheal Brown and from Eric Garner to Freddy Gray, countless Black men and women in between, as well as throughout American history.

How Gay Marriage Can Undo Our Most Basic Liberties and Truths

    in Politics Conservative

As I promised yesterday, I made the decision to do a special show today on this issue of gay marriage yet again.  I know, it's old hat for me, old hat for this show, old hat for some of you.  But I saw an article a couple of days ago that as I said, to me it's a most read for all Americans with what the Supreme Court is hearing arguments over right now.  I'll have that article on the Facebook page so you can read it.  But I wanted to discuss some of the finer points of it today, because to me it really hits on not only what has happened in Canada with the legalizing of gay marriage 10 years ago.  It hits on what is already beginning in the United States.  I'll try to reference how on the show today, beginning at 4:30 Eastern time and archived afterward.

The happily running for the roses horses are trying to win the Kentucky Derby, and Americans eveywhere are gleefully awaiting to don their sombreros, drink tequila, and celebrate Cinco de Mayo in honor of folks whom they refuse to let into their country. And...

Jay, Matt, and the IWS Radio team break it all down for you. IWS offers NFL Draft analysis, recap the Derby, and preview the Cinco de Mayo celebration as they drink Mexican beer, and make fun of the French army.
