I’m a big believer in relationships. I don’t often encounter couples for whom I think the outlook is hopeless. Granted, some relationships are bad for both parties. What attracts people to one another can be the very defenses that hold them back in life—for instance, the shy, indecisive person who chooses a loud, dominant partner. Often in this dynamic, the couple becomes polarized—the shy person retreats further, becoming more invisible in his or her life, while the more assertive partner takes control and directs their lives. However, just rejecting your partner does not so
Same-Sex Marriage is legal in 37 of the 50 United States. It is a definitely controversial issue -for some- that further redefines the word 'family'. Earlier this year a video entitled "Love Has No Labels" was released and went viral. It is a simple statement that has couples of diverse make-ups stand behind a screen that only shows their skeletons. When the couples emerge from behind the screen viewers are amazed to see various degrees of love i.e., gay couples, interracial relationships, different faiths, etc. which showcases that true love has no color, gender, or sexual orientation. I invited Jason and Anthony Henderson-Strong (a couple featured in the video) to be my special guests so we can discuss their road to becoming legally married gay men and new fathers to a wonderful son.

Hope you are having a fabulous Monday! It's Memorial Day Monday and it is a hot and toasty sunny day here in South Florida this afternoon! I was out and about a short while ago at the store and the parking lot was definitely as busy as can be! The store probably was too but I was on the phone and on a mission to pick up the couple of items I needed so I didn't seem to notice. I did have to put down the phone to handle the many cars and pedestrians moving about the lot. I was talking to my boy and he pointed out.. well it IS Memorial Day.. ahh yes the buzz and hustle about the holidays! Makes perfect sense. Now I am back home for a while before heading out with friends for the evening. It's time for a show so here we go! Call me at (646) 378-1541 to get on the air with me! Planning an hour long feast of your musical favorites!
Doctrinn, A 24 year old born in and raised in Pittsburgh PA, He began having a love for music in 2012, now he is all in and if you listen to his music you can tell a couple things about him he beats to his own drum and he has a love for our lord and savier Jesus Christ.
Alana Sholar and Bobbie Thompson are a married couple who live in central Kentucky. What is unique about this couple is that Alana is a male-to-female transwoman and Bobbie is a biologically gendered woman.
Alana, born as Alan in 1961, a time and place where the word transgender was not known, lived and worked on Kentucky thoroughbred horse farms and trained to be a jockey. He also worked various blue collar jobs such as construction, trucking and factory work.
Alana believed the most difficult task to ever face in life would be telling family and friends she is transgender, but it wasn't. Within months of coming out as transgender she had to tell them that she had been diagnosed as HIV positive.
Bobbie knew Alan for approximately 25 years and the even shared a traditional male/female relationship in the mid-1990's. Nearly a decade passed when Bobbie saw Alan again in 2006, only this time Alan (he) had become Alana (she). Freaked out, Bobbie told Alana she didn't want to have anything to do with her. Two years later they were married.
Alana is the author of Hung in the Middle: A Journey of Gender Discovery, and Bobbie tells her side of the story in her memoir My Husband Looks Better in Lingerie Than I Do...Damn It.
Today they still live in the same same Kentucky town where Sholar grew up as a male. They have a blended family of three children, four grandchildren, and two dogs.
