FAMILY COURT RESPONSES TO INCEST AND SEXUAL ABUSE IN CUSTODY DISPUTES

The Boston Globe just ran a story about a little girl who, for five years, was forced by the courts to live with the father who she said was sexually abusing her.  The girl’s mother believed the child, and took her to the doctor, then to the psychologist, and everyone believed the girl. Then they got to the courts and that’s where the child’s life hit a very sad bottom.

Even sadder:  this is happening all the time. Thousands of times. Thousands of children.

What is going on with a court system that forces children to be exposed and at risk by those who are abusing them?

Maralee McLean is a child advocate, protective parent, domestic violence expert, and author of PROSECUTED BUT NOT SILENCED: Courtroom Reform for Sexually Abused Children. Her work has been published in the ABA Child Law Journal, Women’s E-News and other publications on the problems of family courts not protecting abused children. She organized a National Rally of Mothers at the Colorado State Capitol and has been involved in legislative work that spans over two decades.  She testified before Congress to promote judicial accountability to better protect sexually abused children’s rights in our courts. Maralee’s story has been covered by many media outlets and internationally on CNN.

Join us as we talk about the courts’ response to sexual abuse of children in custody disputes.

Are You and Your Family Running From God?

    in Prayer

God is over the entire universe. The Bible says that God knew everyone before they were in the belly of our mother's womb. If believers have Faith in the Bible, why do we run from God and not run to Him. Please know that running from will not allow you to operate in the Supernaural nor signs and wonders.

    in Self Help

Living with HIV everyone has a compromised immune system and are susceptible to illnessess very easily. Call in and listen as Shalonda Henderson talks about becoming blind from cryptococcal meningitis due to having HIV. 347-855-8118 3:30pm PST, 4:30pm MST, 6:30pm EST or listen online at www.blogtalkusa.com.

What is Cryptococcus? Cryptococcus is a fungus that is found in the soil throughout the world. Because Cryptococcus is common in the environment, most people probably breathe in small amounts of microscopic, airborne spores every day. Sometimes these spores cause symptoms of a respiratory infection, but other times there are no symptoms at all. In healthy people, the fungus usually does not cause serious illness because the immune system can fight off the infection. However, in people with weakened immune systems, such as people with HIV/AIDS, the fungus can stay hidden in the body and later reactivate, spreading to other parts of the body and causing serious disease. Cryptococcal meningitis An infection with the fungus Cryptococcus is known as cryptococcosis, and it is a serious opportunistic infection among people with advanced HIV/AIDS.
