10 Things You Can Do To Feel More Calm

    in Health

I'm inspired to talk about this topic today because for the last few months I have been living in a way that has set me up to be very anxious and depressed right now!

But I know exactly what I was doing (and not doing) that has led me to feel this way.

It's a little more complicated for me because I've moved across the country and still feel like a foreigner in this new city.

But, no matter why you are feeling anxious or depressed, there are lifestyle tweaks you can make that help with every case of depression and anxiety.

So many of us are experiencing anxiety - anxiety over our careers, finances, relationships, health, life direction, etc.

Am I making the right choice?

    Am I forgetting something?

    I don't like my job.

    I don't have enough money.

Should I be more like them?

Why aren't I as happy as I thought I would be?

    What's wrong with me?

What should I do with my life?

    Etc.

Being in a state of depression, anxiety and fight-or-flight is not a great place to be on a regular basis, for your health or your happiness.

We want to spend more time with the parasympathetic nervous system, or the "feed and breed" mode.

I have ten lifestyle habits for you to choose from that you can start doing on a regular basis. They will calm you down, get you into a happy place, and help you to see your life more clearly. You don't have to do everything - just a few - and you'll start feeling better very soon.

Guest: Michelle Fondin author of The Wheel of Healing with Ayruveda

    in Relationships

    About the book:

Ever wondered why you’re feeling out of balance, stressed-out, sick, and exhausted but still can’t sleep? Western medicine often ignores the underlying issues that can lead to fatigue, illness, and disease, but there is a way to revitalize your body and mind without drugs or dangerous side effects. Ayurveda, the “science of life,” is a complete wellness system that includes all that we associate with medical care — prevention of disease, observation, diagnosis, and treatment — as well as self-care practices that are generally absent from Western medicine. This truly holistic approach considers not just diet, exercise, and genetics but also relationships, life purpose, finances, environment, and past experiences. In this thorough and practical book, Michelle Fondin guides you gently through self-assessment questions designed to zero in on your needs and the best practices for addressing them, such as eating plans, addiction treatment, detoxification, and techniques for improving relationships. She outlines steps you can take, with minimal cost, to heal common ailments such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, excess weight, anxiety, and depression. These time-tested methods for body, mind, and spirit wellness offer benefits to anyone at any age.

    About the author:

Author of The Wheel of Healing: An Easy Guide to an Ayurvedic Lifestyle and owner of The Ayurvedic Path Yoga and Wellness Studio since 2008, Michelle Fondin practices as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor, yoga and meditation teacher. She holds a Vedic Master certificate from the Chopra Center and has worked with Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon at Chopra Center events teaching yoga and meditation.

A Husband’s Final Farewell to an Amazing Lady

    in Christianity

Greetings to all God's people I pray continue blessings over your life and God's favor. I so deeply appreciate your prayers throughout the ministry. This is a special broadcast that I know will leave you speechless. My guest is Mike Hollinger

On June 20, 2014 Nitza Hollinger left her husband and two sons to forever be with the Lord.  Is this the outcome that she would have voluntarily chosen?  No!  Nitza had two wonderful boys who she desired to see as grown men, to enjoy the fruits of her labor in witnessing the success in each of their lives unfold.  As will be explained, there was a clear pivotal point that occurred as the Lord prepared Nitza to forever be with Him. As the Kirkus review made clear: “Hollinger writes of her experiences with intelligence, and her story is marked by clarity, humor, humility and gratitude.”  Nitza was very humble in the writing of her book.  Her desire was not to bring attention to herself; instead, she chose to focus on how God was continually with her throughout her difficult cancer journey.  At times, I would ask if she was planning to put key experiences of her life in the book, Nitza’s answer was:“No! I am only putting in the book what God wants me to!”

As her husband, I now choose to share with you, the reader, some of those experiences and life events that Nitza chose not to share, desiring that you may better know the amazing lady who I knew, a woman who was much loved by God, family and friends. Tell all your family and friends to join us May 26, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. EST. Come to be blessed while being a blessing.

I Remember - With Craig Sicilia

    in Radio

I Remember – Hosted by Craig Sicilia
First off we want to thank all the veterans out there for their service, and our deepest gratitude for all the men and woman who have sacrificed for our freedoms.  As a survivor a warrior in this epidemic so hidden that I don’t even know who I am a lot of the time.  I remember all the loss of friends and family and especially myself, or at least my old self.
I am this new person who the people I used to love, don’t recognize, I still remember those times, but they have been over shadowed by the destruction of the old me and the pain as I formed this new person.  In the realm of things I have learned to like this new me, this more sensitive person who truly cares for people.
And now something new has happened, a type of ptsd from all of the new friends that this new me has made in the last 9 years are dying all around me, the loss that I am feeling in my heart make it that I find myself struggling to care, struggling to go on.  As I write this I am not sure I can but am trying.  I never allowed myself to develop a person relationship, to fall in love, I would not allow it.  Tonight we will explore how to cope with loss, share what we need to do to allow ourselves to love.  Allow ourselves to live life again.
Join in let’s see if we can discover how this all works
