Sean Bennett from The Food Network Worst Cooks In America Discusses His Book

    in Entertainment

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Food Network Star Sean Bennett from TV show Worst Cooks in America. Neil will interview Sean to find out about his book, his experience doing the show Worst Cooks, and latest projects.

My name is Sean Bennett, and I am an expert at living well on a small budget. I will teach everyone, regardless of age or income, that they can have it all. In our current economic times, readers need the answers to live well without fear of debt or extreme sacrifice. I personally went from poverty to Prada. Other books, like “The Secret,” have taught readers to dream big from the inside out. It may be hard for some readers to feel success if they are in a life of debt and poverty. DIVA ON A DIME! teaches the reader to take a step beyond wishful thinking and provides them with nine proven steps to change their life. DIVA ON A DIME! is the ultimate handbook to help people attain life’s perks that they have always imagined.

I will share with my reader all of the secrets I have learned of how to live the lifestyle of the rich and famous - even with an annual income as low as $25,000 per year. My formula has proven to be recession proof. Who am I? I not only walk the walk, but I live my talk. Harrison Ford and Mo Rocca are my neighbors. I have a maid, production assistants, and even a personal trainer. I fly first class, and attain free stays at luxury hotels. I am a regular spa patron. I attend Broadway shows and celebrity movie openings monthly. No need to hate me when you can join me in an affordable luxury lifestyle today. In today’s economy, people want to live well on a budget. Who wants to sacrifice? I can help anyone have it all!

Allennita Cooks & Charlene Meeker: Picture books are harder

    in Books

This is Author’s Beat, sponsored by The Writers League of the Villages in central Florida. The program is hosted by award-winning author Mark H. Newhouse and was created by prize-winning national journalist Don Canaan and Mark Newhouse.   In the past we have concentrated on books that are primarily text--fiction and non-fiction--but this program will highlight books that are even more complicated to write--one that incorporate both text and illustrations. Our guests are author-illustrators Allenita C. Cooks and Charlene Anne Meeker.   For many years, Allennita Cooks worked with children both as a teacher and storyteller. She has written skits, poems and stories since her teen years that have been utilized by schools and churches. Allennita nurtures her passion for writing  with her book The Grandfather Tree, which she both wrote and illustrated.   Charlene Meeker's  Cookies in Heaven is a true story of a grandfather and granddaughter's relationship - Papa Claude and four year old Lindsey. When a challenge presents itself, Lindsey decides to do something about it. Its a story of hope and love that families share, and will bring a smile at its conclusion.

Ep. 27: Jacqueline Novak and Liza Treyger- Too Many Cooks, Too Much Honesty

    in Comedy

Two of Sabrina's faves are in the studio today, Jacqueline Novak (soon to be published author, always treasured comic) and Liza Treyger (How Many Questions, Chelsea Lately). The girls talk over each other, alongside one another and definitely on top of them-ch'others. Jacqueline dazzles the dummies with her general knowledge of everything including that thing where you project your spirit out in the world and meditate or something. Liza continues to demonstrate her personality disorder by obnoxiously telling Jacqueline to speed up the pace in which she talks. The conversation hits a vulnerable and sad place when the three candidly discuss their relationship to food/their bodies. Ursula calls in to share uplifting dieting advice and let Sabrina know too much ice cream is not a good idea.
