Jeremiah Camara is an author, international speaker, activist, mini-movie and documentary filmmaker. He is the author of the books Holy Lockdown: Does the Church Limit Black Progress? and The New Doubting Thomas: The Bible, Black Folks & Blind Belief. Camara received national attention during his appearances on the Michael Baisden Show. Camara is the creator of the acclaimed video series Slave Sermons. Slave Sermons addresses the perils of religious intoxication and the deleterious consequences of being theologically conditioned to rely upon supernaturalism and divine intervention to deal with critical issues. In 1989, Camara created a roughly edited video documentary titled Psychological Wars, which examined subliminal messages in sitcoms, cartoons and commercials that negatively impacted the psyche of African Americans. Psychological Wars was endorsed by noted Black educators Na’im Akbar and Jawanza Kunjufu.
Currently, Camara has produced a full-length documentary film entitled Contradiction. Contradiction explores the impact of religious loyalty and how an unyielding commitment to faith in an omniscient and omnipotent being is affecting society, particularly the African American segment. Contradiction seeks to understand the paradox between the abundance of churches coupled with abundance of problems and whether there is a correlation between high-praise and low productivity. Contradiction is scheduled for release in 2013.

This week, Chris talks about the need to not just say we read the Bible, but to actually study and know it. In today's culture, many are attacking the Word of God, and Christians, by twisting and contorting what it says. However, many Christians seem ill equipped to defend the doctrines of Scripture because they haven't spent time studying it intently. The Bible are the very words of God to man, therefore, it behooves us to devote much time and energy to the study of it. Not just so that we might stand against at Christ haring world, but so that we might know our Savior all the more.
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

It was 1988 when two Dope MC's champs Super Lover Cee with shiny red training suits and perfectly shaved top fades from Astoria Projects, NY, got every girl on the block locked. 'Do The James' and 'Girls I Got Em Locked' were just two hits of the wonderful 'Girls I Got Em Locked' LP. Now, more than thirty years later, Casanova Rud is preparing to release a new album with his former partner-in-rhyme Superlover Cee...
PARTY WITH CONSENT- A MOVEMENT TO HELP END CAMPUS SEXUAL ASSAULT
Ever heard of “partying with consent?” If you hang around a college campus, that’s the buzz phrase that means you don’t have sex without permission. Sounds easy, right? But some people (like rapists) just aren’t getting it. What’s the deal?
Jonathan Kalin, founder of “Party with Consent,” started the movement to help end sexual assault on college campuses and health masculinities. He admits that most of the efforts to help curb campus rape has led to confusion and a lot of frustration, and he’s identified three barriers to solving that problem. The idea that sexual assault is simply the result of miscommunication; the fact that there is a real communication problem surrounding sexual consent; and the contradiction of athletics.
Jonathan travels the US to promote and explain the philosophy behind the Party with Consent movement.
There’s no denying there is a serious sexual assault issue on campuses. Even the president launched a major campaign last fall to address the problems. So does Jonathan have the answers?
Tune in Saturday at 11 am Pacific time to hear what he has to say and to ask questions about the problem and what some people are doing about it.

Luke 17 and Matthew 24 Correlations or Contradictions?
The study of Luke 17 is inevitable when discussing the return of Christ. Does this chapter refer to a future return of Christ? Does it refer to the day of Pentecost? Some assign Luke 17:20 to Acts 2. Is this correct? Does it refer to the destruction of Jerusalem? Many say absolutely not.
Versus That Speak of the Same Thing Have Different Nature & Time?
It's also interesting that for those who see Luke 17 as a future return of Christ, they make many of it's texts literal and physical. However, when the Lord uses the same wording in Matthew 24, this language is said to be figurative describing an event that happened 1900+ years ago.
Doesn't this mean we have some problems. Of course! Are you willing to investigate them to solve them? Let's hope so, because we'll be discussing these two chapters and other related texts in the broadcast.

The TalentCulture #TChat Show is back live on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, from 7-8 pm ET (4-5 pm PT).
Last week we talked about the six steps to building a remarkable workplace, and this week we're going to talk about email productivity and a new way to work.
Really. Email productivity. We know, we know -- sounds like a contradiction, but it's not.
Email as we know it today is outdated and was invented before “Internet” was a household name. Instead of our managing email -- which really manages us -- what we need is a better way to communicate that focuses on deeper engagement and better outcomes.
Social tools, and mobile and cloud technologies have significantly changed the expectations of consumers about online communications, social interaction and other collaboration tools.
When it comes to the technology we use, we want our work experiences to echo our personal lives, while our organizations want tools with company-wide security and scalability.
It's time for email to act more like a personal assistant. That's something the world of work needs today.
Join TalentCulture #TChat Show co-founders and co-hosts Meghan M. Biro and Kevin W. Grossman as we learn about email productivity and a new way to work with this week’s guest: Carolyn Pampino, Design Director of Collaboration Solutions for IBM.
Thank you to all our TalentCulture sponsors and partners: TalentWise, Dice, Hootsuite, IBM Smarter Workforce, CareerBuilder, PeopleFluent and HRmarketer Insight.
America claims to be “One Nation under God” while at the same time upholding the separation of Church and State. This contradiction can be seen at the heart of every major issue affecting the nation. Politicians often claim to be men of faith but rarely if ever do they look to the Holy Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ for instruction. This paradox is especially prevalent in the African American Community where many of its political leaders also wear the titles of Reverends, Ministers, and Bishops. But can Religion and Politics ever truly co-exist? – And how welcome are Biblical values in a political arena which caters to the wicked and the Godless. Join us today for another edition of “Repentance is the Key” as we examine the Politics of Faith!
We air programs on Blog Talk Radio at the following times: Sun 2:00pm, Mon 8:00pm, Tue 8:00pm, Wed 7:00pm, Thur 8:00pm, Fri 7:00pm & Sat 9:00am. All times are Eastern Standard Time.
One of the most prevalent fears people have is that of losing control. This is the fear that if you don't manage to control the outcome of future events, something terrible will happen. People who are chronic sufferers from such losing-control anxiety keep themselves continuously in a heightened state of stress with only brief, unsatisfying intermissions between fears. The crux of the problem is the demand for certainty in a world that is always tentative and uncertain. It is precisely this unrealistic demand that creates the anxiety. You think that youmust accurately predict and manage the future, not just have some probabilistic and uncertain handle on it. So, the key to controlling your losing-control anxiety is letting go of your demand for certainty-giving up your unrealistic perfectionism about reality. Facing the inherent and unavoidable uncertainty of the future can indeed seem formidable if you demand certainty. But letting go of this demand is the key to letting go of your fear. If you don't have to control the outcome; if you do not expect to predict with certainty what is by its nature uncertain; if you do not expect to solve a contradiction; then you are free to relax.
Existentialists refer to this state of letting go as confronting your angst. It is about accepting responsibility, not for the future but for the choices you freely make about the future. What is in your power? You have the power to say "I won't fear the future." You have the power to say "I won't resign myself to living a life of fear." You always have the power to say no more to such a life. What you don't have the power to do is to be omniscient; to have eyes in back of your head; to see all-knowingly into the future.
