    An Artist Speaks Season 3 Episode 17 with Guest Ken Bennison

    Listen to host Michael Harris as he visits with Fine Art Photographer Ken Bennison.  Ken was a winner of Contemporary Art Gallery Online's Landscape competition.  Ken was born Kearney Ontario, Canada.  He is a retired saw filer in the forestry industry and has spent a life time exploring the wilderness of Northern Ontario.  Ken says: “My work is a collection of fine art depicting wilderness scenes in my environment, the magic moments of Mother Nature.  I provide a view that most people never see and I try to preserve our wilderness for all to see through art.”

    Hear this enlightening interview with host Michael Harris and guest artist James Tormey.  Hear about Mr. Tormey's wonderful and unique art, his motivation and passion for his art, his artistic process and his thoughts about art and it's role in our lives.  James Tormey is a professional artist who lives and works in NYC.  James has shown his work both in the U.S. and abroad and has exhibited his art on Madison Avenue for 20 years.  Born in Brooklyn, NY, James Tormey resides in Manhattan where he has worked for more than 35 years.  His pieces have been shown in the U.S., Europe and Japan and are in many public and private collections.  Tormey combines traditional subject matter with a contemporary interpretation, creating images of heroic proportions as light, reflected and transmitted, evokes clarity of vision and delight in the forms of the natural world.  


    He says, “I offer paintings of simple, natural objects in sharp detail, painted in a larger-than-life scale.  This arrests the viewer’s attention and raises his awareness to a higher level.  In this state of increased sensitivity, there is a keen appreciation of the natural world and the beauty to be found therein.”

    Our current art competition, for September, is with the theme “Landscapes”.  2D artists are called upon to make online submissions for inclusion into the Gallery’s September 2012 online group exhibition. We encourage entries from all artists, regardless if you are considered an amateur artist or professional artist.   All entries must be available for purchase.

    Listen to this insiteful and entertaining interview with host Michael Harris and his guest Lea Novak, a winner in Contemporary Art Gallery Onlines recent art competition.  Lea began painting slightly more than 10 years ago, after painting a mural in her garage. She took a few classes and workshops, as well as a few regular art courses at the local college. Her work has been accepted into juried shows, both local and national, and Lea is an Associate Member of the Oil Painters of America.
