Breaking the Chains.....Our Lives, Our Pain Re-Imagined

    in Motivation

The "I have a dream speech by Martin L.King debuted in Detroit over fifty years ago on June 23, 1963 and changed the course of this nation, and re-imagined what was possible. Born that same year on July 23rd, I recently celebrated my 52nd Birthday, and realize that my life has been engulfed inside the Civil Rights, and parallels closely with the transformation I endured causing me to re-imagine the little black girl born in 1963 also,

Today we are sharing about the healing that must occur between these two cultures that caused such strong divisional lines of hatred, distrust, and pain merely based on skin tone. Although our nation has become much more diverse and Civil Rights are being fought for so many more, we still have a core pain in cities across the nation that still reek with the racial tension of the past.

Today, let's look at racial reconciliation and find ways to re-imagine ourselves, our cities and our nation.

What's possible for us today should we have dialogue about the pain we have both experienced? Our featured guest, poet and author Alicea Davis has a special message for healing our communities and racial reconciliation. Join me as she shares what she has re-imagined for us here in Detroit, and the work she's doing to close the gap in our consciousness so we see ourselves anew - as citizens of the same family. May we all remember our Divine heritage, our spiritual birthrights, and co-creative powers for creating a miraculous world.

Let's re-imagine our self-image, re-create our belief in everyone's worthiness, and choose to live in excellent communities that flourish abundantly with knowledge, intelligence and resources to be self-sustaining.

    in Politics

Here we go again; you have slept long enough in you Ritalin induced zombie shuffle. Effecting change before the apocalypse hits, Dr. Isa and Common Cal take to the air waves Tuesday night. Joining them Derrick J. Freeman to discuss the actual and real meaning of Independence Day, as the Fourth of July is just a date.  Is Independence Day and all of our other freedoms and liberties in jeopardy with all the unconstitutional laws being passed?   There is a reason people left England to come to America…Does history really repeat itself?  The Supreme Court finally ended the marriage equality debate...Isa, Cal and Derrick will discuss this decision, who knows maybe even Loki will chime in. Dr. James David Manning made extremely bold statements, he might be right and it is doubtful he will chicken out like the pastor that said he would set himself a flame if gay marriage passed. Tune in to hear what he said. Isa is a Muslim American activist fighting for the rights of all Americans and the preservation of the constitution.  He was the organizer of the Million American March Against Fear in D.C. on 9/11/2013. Isa was on Fox’s The Five, Sean Hannity, and Jennie Pierro show. Common Cal is a single father of five children. As if that does not keep him busy enough he has been a mechanic and custom car designer/builder for 31 years. Cal is also the owner of three businesses and has two Bachelor Degrees, one in Business Marketing and one in Micro Computer Technologies.  Cal’s love and intrigue for politics stems back to when he was very politically active back in high school and college Hence, why he and the voice opposite him Isa Hodge get along so well. Here we go again; you have slept long enough in you Ritalin induced zombie shuffle.  Effecting change before the apocalypse hits, Dr. Isa and Common Cal take to the air waves on A Muslim & A Catholic Wake Up In ‘Merica, tomorrow night 8:00pm EST/5:00pm PST.

Andre Controversa Presents: Same Sex Marriage: Did SCOTUS Overreach?

    in Politics Conservative

    All,

This is Andre Traversa, host of the Andre Controversa show at www.blogtalkradio.com/andrecontroversa, also linked at www.libertarianrepublican.net.

Tonight's topic will be the SCOTUS same sex marriage ruling, with four guests weighing in on the issue.

As usual, conservatives were more willing to go on the air than liberals, but I did manage to get one moderate/liberal voice to join our panel discussion.

His name is Christopher Hale, and he is with Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good.

They have what they call a more "nuanced," approach to the ruling.

Also joining us is Travis Webber, religious freedom specialist at the Family Research Council, who will share his concerns about the ruling's potential impact on religious liberty.

The legal angle will come from Ken Connelly, legal counsel with the Alliance Defending Freedom.

And last but not least, we will be jointed by the brilliant economics professor Jennifer Roback Morse, founder of the Ruth Institute, who will make her case for a libertarian defense of heterosexual marriage.

The show begins at 9-00 p.m. CT, and we're set up to run for two hours; but we may end the show early; I just don't want to be cut off the air right after the first 60 minutes.

I may add a few surprise guests at the last minute as well.

Please feel free to call in at 914-803-4350, and tune in at 9-00 p.m. Ct for another exercise in Controversa controversy.

    Talk to you later,

    Andre¬

"Common Law Is Just As Good As Marriage" - COCKTAIL CONVERSATIONS on KLJN 107.7

    in Radio

Common Law is Just as Good as Marriage
New Year's Eve was always festive at Antonio's family's house and Cathy typically always had a good time.  This year her little heart was crushed.  She had gone upstairs to the bathroom while the family was sitting around drinking, laughing, eating just having a good ole grand time.

Antonio's Uncle Buddy asked him when was he going to marry Cathy considering they were together 15 years and had a 14 year old daughter. Antonio responded by saying  "Nall Unc, that will never happen, you must've fell and bumped your head".

Meanwhile Cathy was walking down the stairs hearing all of this and Antonio finished by saying "we ARE married... by Common Law."

Cathy turned hot tamale red in the face and was almost in tears because of embarrassment.

On the way home Cathy vented her frustrations to Antonio, stating, "when I moved to Ohio and gave you the down payment for the house, you said you were going to marry me.  Whatever happened to that pipe dream you sold me?

Antonio responded by saying "we are 42 yrs old, what's the point of getting married now? Is it for the the sake of impressing others? "

"We're doing okay.  We've built more together than most married couples.  Please don't get caught up in the concept of marriage baby, its all a facade, its false."

When do you think that its too late to get married? Is Common Law just as good as marriage? Is there any truth to what Antonio said to Cathy? Do Titles really matter more than love?  Call the show (347) 237-5342 and press "1' on your phone to talk about this on the air.

And now here is The Controversial Counselor, David Glover.

  • Moving Towards Light: Judgment

    in Entertainment

Good evening, fellow seekers, and welcome to Moving Towards Light, a forum where we discuss and provide some hard earned insight relating to our own explorations of the many roads and methods which promise to lead us to the ultimate answer: a higher purpose, the meaning of life.

Tonight we'll be talking the contentious topic of judgment.  Generally serving as a negative and something to be avoided, are there positive aspects to the subject to be found as well?  Discernment, wisdom, common sense and awareness all involve some degree of judgment, a weighing of the positives and negatives of a given situation.  Is there a "good side" or "pluses" to judgment?

Plus our usual tangenital flow of thought and transference of deep knowledge and esoteric wisdom - regular listeners know the score.

For all those frustrated in their quest, who've been through various stops on the spectrum of spirituality and found them ultimately unfulfilling:

Join hosts "Doc" Savage and Janna (the "Esoteric Mom") as we share both hard learned lessons and thoughts on potential new directions in the quest, on our journey towards light.
