There are consequences for all of our decisions and actions. An event you are going through today could be from a decision you made years ago. Our decision could affect us in an hour, later today, next month or next year. Our children or grandchildren may feel it well after we have left this world.
How many times have you heard “Change your mind change your life” or some version of it? Setting goals implies that you are going to make a change. What few people tell you is, that with change comes unexpected consequences. The consequences can be big or small; good or bad. Just knowing this can happen can make a big difference in how successful you are.
Because how you handle the consequences and the ripple effect will determine how fast you get going again and how fast you get results. This is the perfect time to reflect on your goals and to design a process to work through the inevitable to better results.
David didn't come to a place of repentance on his own. Nathan the prophet was used by God to awaken David to the truth of the situation he was living in. David repented but his sin had dire consequences.
2 Samuel 12:13-14New Living Translation (NLT)
David Confesses His Guilt
13 Then David confessed to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”
Nathan replied, “Yes, but the Lord has forgiven you, and you won’t die for this sin.14 Nevertheless, because you have shown utter contempt for the word of the Lord[a] by doing this, your child will die.”
This week, Dr Pauline will continue the series talking about the destruction that happens in a person's life when they are caught in a lifestyle of adultery. The Bible has quite a bit to say about this topic. This week, Dr Pauline will be in Micah, Proverbs, Isaiah, Genesis, as well as the scripture that the whole series is based on, Proverbs 6:23-35, 7:7-27. Does God abandon someone who has committed adultery? Does God have any responsibility for your sin? Why do people turn their back on God in the midst of this sin? What consequences could result from adultery? Listen up as Dr Pauline addresses these issues and more. Set a reminder to listen at 4:30pm MST on Monday, June 2.

We have all kinds of reasons for doing what we do, saying what we say, and thinking the thoughts we think; but are our reasons clear?
Do we send the wrong message to others? Are our decisions firm?
If we can understand our reasons/motives behind our actions and words perhaps we can unlock vital information about ourselves, and our motivation for what we do, say, or think. This can clear the path for us to focus on our goals more precisely.
In this episode we will explore how mixed motives are a sign of double-mindedness which leaves us open to disobedience and an array of other negative consequences.
Join me as we use biblical scriptures, poetry, and music to explore this topic. SE Scott
