The View Up Here talks Divide+Conquer as a weapon of Harper with Kevin Bourassa

    in Politics

Divide + Conquer. It's been around since...forever. From Julius Ceasar to Emperor Steven the First. With one common goal. To seize and maintain power. There is no denying the success of this tactic when one looks at history. But it always ultimately fails. Harper has used it as a weapon since Day One of the Corporate Pacification Committee (CPC). It is time for Canadians to see it for what it is and say enough.

Kevin Bourassa (@KevinBourassa) became an international advocate on behalf of equal marriage for same-sex couples when his January 14, 2001 marriage to Joe Varnell captured world headlines. After an initial career as a broadcaster and music journalist, Kevin's spent the bulk of his career working in information technology beginning in the 1980's and in banking during the 1990s. He was Director of Process Management for a bank when he was invited, with Mr. Varnell, to be a test case for a court challenge against the prohibition of marriage for same-sex couples. Things changed overnight.

Kevin travelled with Joe to speak to audiences in Canada, the US, and Europe, advocating marriage equality. He has delivered lectures at numerous universities and law schools. In addition to speaking, Kevin became an active author, publishing in an assortment of commercial and adjudicated academic publications.  In 2002 he coauthored, with Joe Varnell, the critically-acclaimed book, Just Married: Gay Marriage and the Expansion of Human Rights, published in Canada and the United States in English and worldwide in French translation. He is under contract, along with Joe, for a second book.

Kevin has been recognized, with Joe Varnell, for working on behalf of human rights. The couple were honoured as grand marshals for Pride parades in London, Halifax + Saint John. Now in retirement, Kevin enjoys married life with Joe and three cats.

The View Up Here is honoured to welcome Kevin to the show for his insight.

Is it because Ferguson pushes a government agenda of not only increasing government but of divide and conquer? Where the republicans support the police and the democrats support the victim? Pitting black against white and progressive agasint conservative all while putting the real issues of the police in the background? Also martial law decalred based on assumptions, government creating an enviroment promoting violence and more!!

    Conquer Inflammation

    in Health

    SHOW DESCRIPTION:

Do you want to find out how to extinguish the hidden fires behind arthritis, intestinal disorders, heart disease, obesity, mental decline, cancer and diabetes? Tune in while I chat with Julie Daniluk about her book Meals That Heal Inflammation as we cover what causes inflammation in the first place and why we experience pain. Julie will explain why she believes there is no “one diet fits all” approach and that there could actually be 6 billion diets for 6 billion individuals. While inflammation is a natural process that has ensured our survival through generations, the relentless assaults of today’s environment—stress, pollution, poor nutrition and sleep, to name just a few—may be triggering endless inflammatory responses that continuously harm your body—eventually leading to illness. Through proper nutrition you can greatly reduce the inflammation and much more.

    GUEST BIO:

Julie Daniluk hosts The Healthy Gourmet, a reality cooking show that highlights the ongoing battle of taste versus nutrition with unique groups such as bikers, dragon boat racers and ballroom dancers. As a nutritional expert, Julie has appeared in over 300 TV and radio segments including City TV’s Perfect Fit, The Gill Deacon Show on the CBC, CTV’s Balance and Three Takes on Slice Network. She is most recognized by television viewers from her “busted” segments in The Right Fit (W Network), acting as a nutrition encyclopedia by examining what foods people need to purchase and grading healthy choices on restaurant menus. After graduating from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, Julie became Co-Operative owner of one of Canada’s largest health food stores, The Big Carrot Natural Food Market. As the W Network’s official online nutritionist and one of the nutritionists for The Big Carrot.
