The TalentCulture #TChat Show is back live on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, from 7-8 pm ET (4-5 pm PT).
Last week we talked about the three elements of a clear and compelling business vision, and this week we're going to talk about the six steps to building a remarkable workplace.
Nice segue, don't you think? It's the people that guide and propel the workplace, right?
If it were only so easy. From this week's guest's experience opening a shop a month as part of her organization’s UK start-up, she found that 20% of strategies lead to 80% of retention and profit and none of them are vague platitudes like "be nice to your people."
No, they are all practical, immediately applicable, step-by-step processes, and we'll tackle all six tonight on the show.
Join TalentCulture #TChat Show co-founders and co-hosts Meghan M. Biro and Kevin W. Grossman as we learn about about the six steps to building a remarkable workplace with this week’s guest: Mandy Johnson, best-selling business author, active speaker, advisor and executive educator.

“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.” ~Mahatma Gandhi
and in visions of what could have been if I hadn’t been wronged. I blamed someone else for the life I didn’t have, and felt vindicated in the soul-sucking resentment I carried around from day to day.
I realize it makes less compelling writing to talk so generally, but these stories aren’t only mine to tell. They involve someone I love and have since forgiven. So perhaps the kindest thing I can do both for them and me is not retell the story, but instead create a new one: a story about letting go.
It’s a hard thing to do—to completely let go of something painful and forgive the person who may or may not have realized what they did. At my angriest point, I was convinced the person who hurt me did it with full intention and cruelty. I felt not a shred of compassion; just unadulterated pain and rage.
Then I realized, unless someone is a sociopath, they are rarely without feeling. And if they’ve hurt another person, even if their ego prevents them from admitting it, odds are they feel remorse on some level.
No one is purely bad, and everyone carries their own pain which influences the decisions they make. This doesn’t condone their thoughtless, insensitive, or selfish decisions, but it makes them easier to understand.
After all, we’ve all been thoughtless, insensitive, and selfish at times. Usually, we have good intentions.
And for the most part, we all do the best we can from day to day—even when we hurt someone; even when we’re too stubborn, ashamed, or in denial to admit the hurt we’ve caused.
So how do you forgive someone when every fiber of your being resists? How do you look at them lovingly when you still have the memory of their unloving action?

Since Hurricane Katrina, the onslaught of heroine into St. Bernard Parish has increased to nearly epidemic proportions. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention indicated that in 2009, the drug induced death rate in Louisiana was higher than the national average. For the 2004 - 2008 time period, St. Bernard Parish in Louisiana had the 5th highest rate of drug poisoning deaths in the country, at 48 deaths per 100,000 population.
Our guest, Bonnie Kaye, lost her daughter to heroine. Bonnie’s grieving began years before her daughter Jennifer stuck a needle in her arm for one last high.
“My daughter was dying for a long period of time,” Kaye, an Oxford Circle resident, said recently. “You are dying for a long time before the actual death comes.”
Kaye shares the heartbreaking story of her daughter’s overdose death in 2002 with her new book Jennifer Needle in Her Arm: Healing from the Hell of My Daughter’s Addiction.
Writing is familiar territory for Kaye, a relationship counselor and author of eight books who also operates the Northeast GED Center, in Philadelphia. But that experience, as well as the passage of 12 years, didn’t make her latest book any easier to write.

We are wired to tell stories because it is how we make sense of the world around us. Storytelling is an ancient art form that has been around as long as mankind has. Being able to tell a story in a compelling way is a skill that can be developed. It helps an audience understand your message and retain it for longer. In this episode we discuss some of the secrets of storytelling at its finest. Tune in.
Tonight is a replay of this afternoons earlier broadcast. Make sure to tune in and tell some friends to do the same, as a very compelling conversation with the saints at New Wine Ministry rehearse Bible passages on the Beast and his Mark. This Beast is here and His Mark is soon to come to the west. The saints of God must understand the true Mark of the Beast in order to avoid it.
We also understand that there are many other views concerning the Mark and the identification of the Beast. One could simply scower the internet and choose any one of those views. However, there are some clear facts and evidences that need to be listened to, for there is only one truth concerning this issue and it may cost our lives if we are not aware of the truth.
Today we are talking about closing the gaps. We know that awareness is the first step to making any kind of change, or closing the gap between where we are to where we want to be. When you get in your car and enter a destination in your navigation system, the first thing it needs to do is find out where you are now. The best GPS in the world can’t tell you where to go until it finds your current location. This is a step that is often overlooked in our personal and business plans: Where you want to go is meaningless unless you know where you are. I am so excited for today’s guest who has dedicated most of his life to the topic of productivity, Hyrum Smith.
Hyrum Smith is a distinguished author, speaker, and businessman. He is the Co-Founder and former CEO of Franklin Covey, Co. For three decades he has been empowering people to effectively govern their personal and professional lives. Hyrum’s books and presentations have been acclaimed by American and international audiences. He combines wit and enthusiasm with a gift for communicating compelling principles that incite lasting personal change. Hyrum is the author of several nationally-acclaimed books, including The 10 Natural Laws of Successful Time and Life Management, What Matters Most, The Advanced Day Planner User’s Guide, and The Modern Gladiator. He also co-authored Excellence Through Time Management. Hyrum’s most current work is The Power of Perception: 6 Rules of Behavior Change. Hyrum’s books can be purchase on Amazon.com.
On today's show you will learn:
1. You can live in a world of chaos and experience sustainable "inner peace".
2. Closing the gaps can profoundly affect you individually, your personal relationships, and your organization.
3. Aligning beliefs, goals and values will superpower performance.
The TalentCulture #TChat Show is back live on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, from 7-8 pm ET (4-5 pm PT).
Last week we talked about how 2015 will be the best year for recruiting since 1999, and this week we're going to talk about the three elements of a clear and compelling business vision.
Developing business vision and strategy are difficult to execute. Most leaders default to actions steps and tactical plans and spend most of their time here. Even if they invest up front to create the vision, sustainable investment is short-lived.
Plus, less than 10% of the organizations she's visited are led by managers who have a clear sense of where they are trying to lead people.
What to do? For a business vision to be compelling and provide ongoing guidance, it must illuminate all three elements of a compelling vision including purpose (or mission), values, and a clear picture of a desirable future.
Join TalentCulture #TChat Show co-founders and co-hosts Meghan M. Biro and Kevin W. Grossman as we learn about the three elements of a clear and compelling business vision with this week’s guest: Dr. Jesse Lyn Stoner, Founder of Seapoint Center for Collaborative Leadership and co-author of the bestseller Full Steam Ahead: Unleash the Power of Vision.
