Please join us and our guest, Pam Whitworth of Shanti Children's Foundation, for a talk on Compassion in Action! Pam traveled to Nepal for the first time in 1995, fulfilling a dream she had had since she first started reading stories about the Himalaya when she was 12 years old. Little did she know how profoundly this trip would change her life … opening a door to experiences and a destiny she could never have envisioned.
Pam started sending a single child to school in 1997. Over the years she asked friends to help with educating disadvantaged kids in Nepal, and from there the project grew. Then one day she suddenly realized she was smack in the middle of developing the kind of charity that she had always felt called to create! And Shanti Children’s Foundation came into being. Pam continues to visit Nepal about once a year to oversee Shanti and to connect with the children and school administrators, ensuring that SCF runs smoothly. In addition to running SCF, she is an artist and designer.

This show deals with the topics of compassion and pity. What is the difference between them and what does it have to do with our Karma in this lifetime? According to Kari Samuels, intuitive numerologist and happiness coach, says that our pity causes us to delve into other people’s dramas and therefore mess up our Karmic balance along with not allowing the other person or people to learn their life’s lessons in this incarnation. It is important to have compassion, meaning lending an ear without judgement, because it helps the person deal with their life’s problems and helps clear your own Karma as well. Therefore, the next time you butt into someone else’s problems, remember that it is THEIR problems, not YOURS, and therefore they need to sort it out themselves, no matter how long it takes, whether in this lifetime or others.

The Power of Compassion changes everything in us from our physciology and to how we walk and what we talk about. What is most important for you to know about compassion? Tune in and Join in on the Conversation Tomorrow Morning at 5:30, PST!

Now that the well wishes for a better new year are grinding down and giving way to "life as usual", are we doing anything to make the world in which we live a better place? Or are we still waiting for a "savior" - someone, or a group of individuals to save us from ourselves?
In this show, we will disscuss many of the things we already know, some of there histories, what it may take to bring about the changes we want to see and how each of us can make these changes in our own communities.
There are sacrifices in everything we do, so please don't think there is a way to make the changes without losing something, but, with every great and selfless sacrifice comes great change - for you, your children and their children.
Are you ready?

Tell your story and let's discuss how God shows compassion. Psalms 103:8 says The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. Do you believe God is a harsh Judge waiting to catch you in a sin? Or do you believe He is full of compassion and loving kindess? Everyone has a story to tell so call in at 646-787-8522 and share your story with us. You don't have to walk alone. Jesus came for the broken hearted Luke 4:18
If you are an organization volunteer, a pastor, a minister, a full time care giver, a nurse, a babysitter, or anyone who has to give time, attention, love, and care to the less fortunate, ther is a point where you just get tired. Guilt may keep you going for a while, but at some point, you just want to go away and not see another needy soul. You could be experiencing "Compassion Fatigue." Its that last step before burnout, when you absolutely have nothing left of yourself to give. What if you're caring for an elderly sick parent? What if you have a chronically ill child? Some times you can't just walk away. Chaplain Oluwatoyin Hines joins us today to discuss her work in helping those who help others to recognize the signs and overcome their Compassion Fatigue in order to continue their work in service to those in need.

Non-Violent Communication (NVC) begins by assuming that we are all compassionate by nature and that violent strategies—whether verbal or physical—are learned behaviors taught and supported by the prevailing culture. NVC also assumes that we all share the same, basic human needs, and that each of our actions are a strategy to meet one or more of these needs.
People who practice the techniques of NVC have found greater authenticity and compassion in their communication, increased understanding, deepening connection, and easier conflict resolution.
Join me as I interview one of the US CNVC Certified Trainers Roberta Wall to learn how we can use non-violent communication in our personal relationships, in our parenting, our schools, in our spiritual growth and even abroad.
