"Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success." ~ Henry Ford
The power of community is all around you. It's in the cheers of the crowd at the Little League game. It's in the sweat and laughter of the family working together at the yard sale. It's in the shopping advice given from one stranger to another in the produce aisle at the supermarket. When we come together, it changes us all for the better.
What about you? Do you have some way, big or small, that you could improve your neighborhood, your place of worship, your local school, your place of work?
Tune in today as we chat with Brian Watson, co-pastor of Gateway Community Church, Houston, TX. They are 12 years strong in giving and serving in their local community through their upcoming annual outreach called Project Press (People Reaching Excellence Striving & Succeeding). Hear their story and be inspired to start doing more for your community today!

Join Dr. Cherilyn Lee, co-host Karlynn Cammon and special guests Tony Nicholas and Dana Wilke as they discuss The Sam Simon Foundation and the movement of provding nutritious vegan food to families exeperiencing economic hardship.
Over 1.7 million people living in Los Angeles County lack consistent access to healthy food. Of those, 400,000 are children. One-third of families who receive nutrition assistance have at least one person in the family working. The Sam Simon Foundation-Feeding Families was created in 2011 to help end hunger. They are a proud partner of a network of pantries, neighborhood centers, food banks, faith-based groups and others who are committed to ending food insecurity in our community. The Sam Simon Foundation distributes nutritious vegan groceries, at no cost, to individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet.

Dave Dyer called the program to talk about being a working comedian in the twenty first century, America, and about doing comedy poking fun at his family members.
Richard Snyder stopped in to talk about his upcoming presentation at Janesville City Council, where he and his group are hoping to gain council's approval in renovating the old gas station next to Janesville Police Department building, turning it into a stained glass shop. There, Richard would be making glass windows for the Oak Hill Chapel, for which community members have just raised $40,000 and City of Janesville contributed another $60,000 bringing the total to $100,000.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN MATH EDUCATION
Mind Research Institute sponsored a Math fair in Orange County CA that was attended by over 4,000 parents and students. Dr Matt Peterson, of MRI is our guest about all their continuing community outreach !
With everything going on in the country today we thought that it would be a good idea to have an episode on Police and the community. The police are supposed to be there to make you feel safe, comfortable and protected. However, some members of our communities are scared, in danger and feel unprotected. Some people see the police as the good guys, some view them as the bad guys. We are going to have a great discussion on this today. We will touch on what makes people feel the way they do about the police and how we can improve relationships between community memebers and the police officers who serve them.
We'll talk a little bit about Michael Brown and the others that have been in police involved brutality, shootings or confrontations.
Of course the police will always have people that dislike them (the criminals) because they hinder their plans of breaking the law. However, the police shouldn't have a stigma of not being fair to certain people or have the community scared when they cross paths with an officer.

DADIO'S LUNCH BUCKET RADIO CLINIC - Live this week yet again from Jeff's Coffee Bar
Dadio's Lunch Bucket has a little bit of everything. Live from the MY OFFICE JVL building, and sometimes on the road at local taverns and coffee shops, the Radio Clinic risks the perils of ad hoc radio. There is a working class blue-collar theme with local and regional interests that weave through the show. Some college degrees are mixed in. And, all along the way they try to give a voice to those ignored by the status quo. Somehow, they entertain us all in the process.
Segments include but are not limited to: Word Phrase; Fish Fry; Quiz; Blue-Collar Jobs; Wisconsin War Casualties; News and Comment; and..., Burgers.
You need to ask Dadio and his crew some questions..., the man comes with his own support group that is prepared and ready to pull him out of the holes he invariably digs himself into!
Call the show, play the quiz, win, make Dadio buy you a beverage at a local watering hole!

Random Talk is a product of a long standing friendship; now coming up on 15 years; Carol and I came up with this brilliant idea. Recently on our weekly walks; we decided, why not give people a look into our great discussions and weekly rants?
We have officially known each other since 1999. A friendship that has taught us patience, forgiveness, support and host of other lessons. Around 10 years ago in order to keep our friendship fresh and enjoy a little exercise we began those weekly walks. Since then we have boh become college graduates, working professionals, business owner, wives, and Carol a mother. We hope to continue our loving friendship for years to come.
and other random topics.
