November is National Family Caregivers Month. According to the Caregiver Action Network, about 29% of the U.S. population will provide care for a chronically ill, disabled, or aged family member or friend during a given year, spending an average of 20 hours a week providing care. On this show, we'll discuss the issue of caregiving, why it's so important for caregivers to take time for themselves, and the ways in which men and women differ when it comes to what each needs. No calls - listen only mode.
There are so many ways to communicate - phone, email, text, video conference, blogs and good old snail mail - yet our communications are often lacking in genuine meaning.
Modern technology has changed the way that we communicate forever; and is often seen as a barrier rather than an enhancer to effective communication. Yet, we can reach across both barriers and differences to build or strengthen relationships. The art of communication bridges that space. Effective communication is a true transfer of information. It's listening with compassion and understanding, and expressing ourselves in a manner that others can stop focusing on differences long enough to hear the message. Communication is an art form.

Welcome to another episode of Unspoken Words. Robert, Dan, Brittany and Jackie discuss honesty and communication. Honesty and communication sound cliche, but how honest should two people really be with each other? When it comes to talking about each others past and past relationships, what does the other person really deserve to know? Should we really discuss with each other the issues such as being attracted to another person while you're in a relationship? Do we discuss work place flirting? These are the tough questions that each couple has to confront and how you decide to communicate through these issues will have a huge affect on your relationships.
