Is the controversial American school reform known as #Commoncore simply the latest iteration in corporate America's design to make Americans more ignorant and compliant?
What is the real function of our public education system and how has it been co-opted by large corporations and politicians to produce the kinds of people they need in order to maintain the status quo? Are parents losing the battle to educate their own children?
Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt is an educational insider, a policy influencer who served as Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), U.S. Department of Education, during the first term of U.S. President Ronald Reagan.
Iserbyt is best known for writing the book #The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America an eye-opening revelation of the changes gradually brought into the American public education system designed to eliminate parental, religious, and other influences, and mold the child into amember of the proletariat in preparation for the socialist-collectivist world of the future.
Iserbyt maintains that all so-called school reforms originate from a master plan formulared by Andrew Carnegie's Foundation for the Advancement of Education and Rockefeller's General Education Board.
According to Iserbyt, Common Core is simply the latest version of these corporate driven initiatives aimed at influencing and shaping society rather than encouraging intellectual curiousity, creativity, and true learning.
Iserbyt's findings, while they remain controversial, still provide lots of food for thought as we examine the role of public education in American society and how best to educate our children.
Have you noticed the change in accents in the South are starting to change? There is a reason for this dilemma, another Yankee invasion! This migration has changed the Political Map of the country and it could have some significant effects on who controls the Senate and House of Representatives in Washington, DC.
Hillary Clinton is expected to announce her bid for the White House right after the New Year Celebrations. Is she one tough lady or is she oblivious to what is going on?
Two Contitutional Amendments to change some South Carolina laws that need South Carolinians attention in November.
Can this be true, Conservatives supporting Common Core? With kids returning to school and the controversial Common Core standards still weighing heavy on the minds of country, I have arranged to have the National Policy Director Michael Brinkman of the Thomas B. Fordham Institute (a conservative education policy think tank) to join us "In the Pickle Barrel" to discuss the controversy over Common Core standards.
Never a dull day "In the Pickle Barrel".
Show goes live at 8AM-10AM EST.
Hear perspectives about the new Advanced Placement US History and why does it matter in this year's election and the future of America. Elections have consequences. Historical accounts matter. Who controls the thoughts of America's children will wield great power in the world. Common Core's well known author David Coleman is the new President of the College Board. His latest plan is to re-write history. Many do not understand the importance of this--many in history understood and huge price were paid when that knowledge is used for the wrong reasons. Come learn with us and fight for your child's mind, your child's soul and your country. It starts with knowledge...
White skin people have more control. Black skin people find themselves being told what to do and when to do it. Well, it is not exactly this way but there was a time it was only this way. Inequality in America is about the color of a person's skin. There are other issues but the greatest of them all are the color of a person's skin. Today, there are those who would choose for it be back as it once was. The best thing to prevent America going backwards is voting. Lots of Americans do not vote. For whatever reasons lots of Americans will tell you they just don't vote because it doesn't do any good.
Well if you go into a store to make a purchse, you have to shop around and find what you want. You may see several different kinds but you have to decide which one is best for you, based on a variety of issues. If it turns out the brand you selected was a mistake, the next time you pick another brand. You continue until you have what is best for you. If you don't make a choice, you get what the store owner want you to have, or you get what is left over. This is a lot like voting. It does help when you made the choice. If the choice proves to not be best for you, you don't choose that one the next time. You have to come to understand come Nov 4, 2014 there will be voting across America. Every person of voting age and eligibility must help the country by voting. People need jobs, a raise in minimum wages, immigration reform, the right to vote is being threathened, medicaid expansion and even the newly Democratic ACA law, is under threat of being repealed. All these issues and many others are at stake of being lost to the millions of Americans if not enough Americans go out and vote Nov 4, 2014. Register to Vote. Get out the Vote. Vote in the midtern elections for Democrats for better choices after high school /college.
