We're highlighting a few new businesses we recently discovered and love. Many of us are entrepreneurs and we want to know how these businesses got their start and why customers love them. Maybe you can find some inspiration and tips for your own business.
Sseko Designs: We met the founder of Sseko, Ben, at an INC conference and he’s doing amazing things. He has a brilliant shoe which allows people to simply switch the ribbons out for a new color and look. We talked to Ben about making a Marine Corps Ribbon and providing a portion of the proceeds to the Semper Fi Fund and he agreed! We can’t wait to show you the finished product.
Molly’s Suds: We were given a package of all natural laundry detergent and Abbey is going to offer her opinions on the product. We’re also going to ask Monica Leonard, the founder of Molly's Suds, how she followed her dreams of starting a business which is good for the environment and also her family.
Commissary Closures: This week starts the beginning of the commissary closures on Monday. If your Commissary is normally closed on Monday, then they will now be closed Monday and Tuesday.

This is an excerpt from a letter at Prisons' Wives Girlfriends and Partners
Dear Incarcerated (in relationships),
I spend a lot of time counseling women who have committed their lives to standing by you. These women are the very embodiment of unconditional love. I often see many women hurt, mistreated and devastated by partners whose idea of love differs from theirs. You don’t have a choice to do this time, but we do.
Here are a few things you should know:
You should know that we really love you. We love you with two years. We love you with life sentences. Some of us even love you with death. You should know that if a woman is willing to love you at all during a prison sentence, she is someone worth respecting and hanging on to.
You should know it’s not game to ‘play the field’ behind bars. In fact, it’s lame and tacky. Take a look around. You ain’t ballin’. If you are using someone for comfort and commissary under the guise of love and romance, you should know it’s not kind. It takes more strength of character to tell the truth about your intentions. You may be surprised to learn that some are still willing to support you.
You should know life goes on. To demand that she not go out and enjoy the world she is a part of is selfish. There are two lives dealing with this situation. Don’t make her a pseudo prisoner by sentencing her to house arrest. You should know it doesn’t have to be hard time for both for you.

Some say absence makes the heart grow fonder, but what if the absence is imposed and permanent or for many, many, many years!? Where does one draw the line when putting themselves on hold for another? If your mate or your date goes to jail…exactly how long are you willing to wait for um’? Are you the letter writing, pen palling, commissary Bonnie to someone’s Clyde? Or did you bail as soon as the going got tough and rough and raided your house down!? Who reaps the benefits but didn’t go through any pain? Inquiring minds want to know, how you keep it together when you ain’t together.
I recently read an article that said, "Frugal is the new black." With the rising gas prices, an depressed economy, living on a military pay can be a challenge. Mr. Phillip Sakowitz joins us to talk about the Commissary, key to stretching our military pay
What is going on here. Lets find out together.
Let's get in the ring and figure out which is the best way for your husband to get the stuff he needs. What makes it easier on you. We will go over a Commissary sheet and it's prices (though they vary from facility to facility) and compare the pros and cons to purchasing and lugging the stuff on the outside as opposed to putting money in his account for him to purchase things from inside. Join me so we can see what works best for us and why.
